Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 116

Chapter 116

Raven POV

“Hey, Aeress, have you seen Hades?” I frowned perplexed.

Aeress rolled her eyes. “He’s been out training all day. Took all his anger and frustrations out on the warriors. I think they were glad to see the back of him. Apparently, he was like a man possessed.”

She smirks knowingly. I try not to laugh out loud. This is exactly the type of reaction I was going for when it came to Hades. My plan was working, and I couldn’t be more satisfied.

“Shouldn’t I have come across him, though? I’ve been all through the pack house, even past his study,” I said and winked at her, “to tease him naturally and drive him crazy but there’s no sign of him at all now.”

“I’m pretty sure his anger has something to do with that. You’re everywhere he goes. Even when he’s outdoors, he glances towards the packhouse. Don’t think I don’t know you’ve been subtly placing yourself where he can catch a glimpse of you before quickly vanishing, you little minx,” she huffed out a laugh, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

“So, you know my game,” I smiled, “I guess somebody as clever as you was likely to figure it out.”

“I’m the champion of seduction tricks, baby,” she boasted and then laughed, “Seriously though, you should give the man a break. He’s starting to feel like he’s losing his mind,” she scoffed lightly, her words filled with laughter rather than anger.

“What’s more surprising is that Marissa has stayed away,” I mused, “she hasn’t even confronted me once.”

It was a little bit disappointing. I’d been prepared for a fight, for something to happen, but nothing. It was strange, I thought to myself, and a little unnerving I admitted.

“I don’t trust her or like her,” the other omega grumbled, shaking her head. “it’s going to be hell if Alpha Hades marries her,” she complained, looking disgruntled.

“Shh,” the other omega warned, putting a finger to her lips, “you can’t speak about the future luna that way? What if she hears? You remember what she did to that poor girl? When she’s Luna, she’ll be able to go even further and punish us harder. You need to be more careful,” she advised, glancing at us over her shoulder and looking slightly worried.

Aeress and I shoot each other horrified glances. I sprint towards the stairway. She’s on my heels. I see Jackson out of the corner of my eye, looking puzzled, before he too begins to storm upstairs. I have this sick feeling in my stomach that something is wrong, although I can’t quite put my finger on it. I know Marissa, though, and this isn’t likely to be some innocent dinner. She had ulterior motives.

“What’s going on?” Jackson panted, glancing between us, his eyes filled with concern.

I reach Hade’s door. I try the handle. It’s locked. Fuck. Marissa could be up to anything. This was another scheme of hers. Why had I let down my guard? Of course, she was planning something and using Hades for her own personal gains. She was shameless.I felt anger rising up inside of me. If she’d done something to Hades, I was going to kill her with my bare hands.
