Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 127

Chapter 127

“For starters, I’m not an abusive, lying, manipulative bitch,” I said calmly, “I don’t hurt people unless they deserve it, I don’t abuse my authority, and my feelings for Hades are genuine.”

“You slut,” she hissed, “you’ve been seeing each other all along haven’t you?” she cried, “that’s why you always rejected my advances isn’t it?” She looked to Hades whose eyes slid away, confirming her suspicions,

To be fair, now that Hades had told me, it would have been difficult for him to ignore the mate bond which would have been triggered every time he was near me. It’s not as though he meant for this to happen. I was the catalyst/

“You betrayed me,” she breathed, her eyes staring directly into mine, “you broke our bond.”

“No, Marissa, there was never any bond to begin with. I know that I’m Alpha Daxton Shadow’s biological daughter now and that Damien Shadow is my brother. I know everything,” my voice drips with contempt, “and you knew. You knew, and you kept it secret for so many years so you could keep abusing me. You disgust me,” I told her, my chest heaving up and down, “you and your mother are both despicable and deserve to rot in hell.”

“Where is she?” she screamed, losing control, “What did you do to my mother?”

Ah, I wondered when she would get to that.

Her lower lip is trembling, betraying the range of emotions flooding through her. Her vulnerability, her desperation to find the only woman who had ever shown her love.

“I simply turned the tables on her. You know Alpha Drake,” I said darkly, “well, turns out he likes mature-aged women just as well as younger ones. I bet she’s having a wonderful time with him.”

“How does it feel, Marissa?” my voice cuts through the air, “to lose everything you wanted? To suffer this humiliation? Is your world coming to an end. Do you know now what it’s like to have the shoe on the other foot?”

It’s cruel. But I want to prove a point. I want to show her just how it feels to have everything crashing around you and you be helpless to stop it. I want her to experience the same pain I always felt. It makes her lose her composure.

Her eyes flash. They turn dark. Claws begin to extend from her fingers. She’s lost control. Her anger is no longer caged. She leaps towards me, shifting in mid-air, and the two of us go crashing through the window, glass shattering everywhere.

I hear Hades desperate cry, “No, Raven!” in the distance.

But it’s already too late. My body is flying in the air and I’m almost reasonably certain that I’m about to die even as I refuse to give up and let Marissa win.
