Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 88

Chapter 88

Raven POV

“Do you like my little surprise?” I smiled coldly, “How does it feel to be an anomaly, mother? The very thing you despise?” I taunted as she continued to stare blankly at me, wanting to deny the reality of what’s happened.

“Impossible,” she shrieked, “there’s no possible way. You’re messing with me. You must have given me wolfsbane or silver! You can’t take a wolf from their person, you would need…” she trailed off at the glint in my eyes.

“Black magic?” I whispered as she stilled, “The power of a whole coven?” I gloated, sitting back down and folding one leg over the other, “a ritual to separate the wolf from its human and a vessel to transfer it to?” I asked knowingly.

She looks sick. “No coven would agree to help you. Witches are not easily persuaded to do anything.”

It’s true. Witches were not easily persuaded to help shifters, preferring to remain isolated in their covens, studying magic and improving their powers. Still, as I’d discovered, it wasn’t impossible.

My voice grows darker. “That night, I crept into the dungeon, and I took out the guards. I let her out of the cell and I helped her outside. I encouraged her to shift, and I began to run in the opposite direction as a distraction. You didn’t know she was gone. I ran through the woods and made a direct beeline for the boundary line. You ordered your patrol to go after me and I gave her time to escape and cross into neutral territory and out of your grasp. When you found out she was gone, you beat the guards, and as a punishment for running away you had me whipped until I couldn’t stand. But you know what?” My voice is filled with joy, “she escaped too. Before she ran, she told me to find her aunt Petunia in the Greenwich Coven if I ever needed anything. I decided to finally take her up on her offer When she made it to her aunt’s coven, Eliza, the girl, told her aunt all about me and what I had done,” I breathed, and she told her Aunt everything you did to her,” I said ominously.

“No, no, no,” she whispered, her voice shaking.

She made no move to get off the table now. Comprehension was dawning. Denial was no longer an option.

“She was only too happy to help and return the favour of me saving her niece’s life. She persuaded her sisters to help. When she found out they were performing the ritual on you, the one who hurt her darling niece, she was more than delighted to take revenge.”
