For the babies' celebration banquet, the Fairchild family invited their relatives, as well as Waylon. The family hadn't forgotten his help, and when Waylon arrived, Delilah greeted him with humble gratitude.
Lyra turned to Maddie and Leo. "You two stick to Waylon today. Make sure he's well taken care of."
"Aren't we guests?" Maddie asked.
"You're my best friends, but Waylon has never been to my house before."
"Fine."
The Harrington relatives were also in attendance. They looked rather surprised to see Waylon—especially Kayla's brother. After all, Waylon used to actively pursue Kayla, yet the Fairchild family was magnanimous enough to invite him. However, they had also heard that Waylon provided massive help during the recent crisis, so the family's gratitude made sense.
Leo and Maddie gifted the babies two exquisitely carved solid gold lockets, symbolizing good fortune. Waylon's gift was also a gold locket, but it was incredibly heavy—weighing more than Leo's and Maddie's combined.
"Come on, you should have warned us. How are we supposed to compete with that?"
Seeing Maddie's playful pout, Lyra quickly reassured her. "Your gifts are normal. Waylon's... if my niece and nephew wore that, it would snap their little necks. It's just a collector's item."
Appeased, Maddie nodded with a smile. "Lyra, what did Caleb name the babies?"
"My nephew and niece's horoscopes needed earthly elements, so my nephew is Harry, and my niece is Hazel."
In her past life, her family had been wiped out, so she assumed someone outside the family had named them. Judging by Kayla's unfamiliar expression when Waylon had mentioned those names before, it seemed they hadn't considered them. Since that was the case, they wouldn't use the names Waylon had suggested in this timeline either.
Lyra kept a close eye on Waylon's reaction when he heard the names. He merely looked momentarily stunned before his expression returned to normal.
Caleb clapped the tall, broad-shouldered Waylon on the back, his gratitude obvious, and gestured for him to take a seat like an old friend.
"Let's take a seat too," Lyra told Leo and Maddie.
Delilah hadn't specifically sent an invitation to Victoria and the Jamesons.
The lively atmosphere in the room noticeably quieted down.
Lyra's face slowly stiffened.
Maintaining her graceful hostess smile, Delilah exchanged a few polite words with Rowan before showing him to a seat.
After all, in the eyes of the Harrington relatives present, her engagement with Rowan was over. Sitting together would be inappropriate.
As the guests clinked glasses and chatted, Lyra kept her head down. Occasionally, when she glanced up, she would accidentally meet Rowan's gaze. Their eyes would lock for a fleeting second before both smoothly looked away as if nothing had happened.

The readers' comments on the novel: She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry
What Rowan did in his past life was horrific, and I’m not excusing it, but he truly did everything he could in his second life to repent and atone for what he did to Lyra. At some point, there has to be room for forgiveness and grace. If someone spends their entire life trying to make amends and become a better person, then what does redemption mean if we never allow them a chance to be forgiven? Even someone who has done terrible things deserves the possibility of redemption, and honestly, I want Rowan to be happy too!...
