[I'm so jealous of wealthy couples like this. No messy scandals, just low-key and completely in love.]
[Their marriage is amazing. Mr. Jameson wore the tie his wife bought him to a major event today. True love confirmed.]
[No wonder Mr. Jameson is so obsessed with her. Who wouldn't fall for such a sweet and considerate wife?]
Lyra paused. Major event?
A voice memo from Maddie popped up on her screen. Lyra hit play, and her friend's teasing voice came through the speaker. "I honestly thought you two had some deep-rooted issues and a terrible relationship. But looking at the news photos today, you guys are crazy about each other."
Lyra was utterly speechless.
She headed downstairs to eat breakfast in the dining room and flipped the TV to the financial news. Pip suddenly reached out with his chubby little arm, pointing at the screen and squealing, "Mommy, Daddy!"
On the screen, Rowan was dressed in a sharp black shirt and a tailored black suit. The entire look was incredibly subdued, which made the vibrant colors of the tie around his neck pop dramatically. Pip tilted his little head back, beaming with absolute pride as he repeatedly babbled, "Daddy! Daddy!"
Lyra's stomach plummeted. Rowan was actually on television today.
Andrea happened to walk in at that moment. Lyra looked at her in a panic. "Rowan is on TV today? Why didn't he mention a word of this to me?"
Andrea glanced at the screen calmly and replied, "You usually don't pay much attention to his work affairs, Ma'am, so he probably didn't think to mention it."
Lyra stared at the glaringly obvious tie, her heart pounding with anxiety. "This is a disaster. What if people realize it's a free gift-with-purchase?"
"Mr. Jameson wouldn't care about something like that," Andrea said. "As long as it's from you, he loves it."
Lyra was still terrified. If Rowan found out she gave him a freebie, would he be furious?
Looking at the man on camera, he seemed completely composed and steady, showing absolutely no signs that anything was amiss. But if someone exposed that he was wearing a promotional item...

The readers' comments on the novel: She's Too Busy Winning to Watch Him Cry
What Rowan did in his past life was horrific, and I’m not excusing it, but he truly did everything he could in his second life to repent and atone for what he did to Lyra. At some point, there has to be room for forgiveness and grace. If someone spends their entire life trying to make amends and become a better person, then what does redemption mean if we never allow them a chance to be forgiven? Even someone who has done terrible things deserves the possibility of redemption, and honestly, I want Rowan to be happy too!...
