The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 112

Arthur's face instantly darkened. "Are you threatening me?"

"It's not a threat," Riley said calmly. "I'm stating a fact."

Pierce had never truly believed Riley would divorce him. He thought she would yell, throw a fit, cry for a while, and eventually forgive him. But seeing the absolute finality in her eyes right now, panic finally seized him.

He lunged forward and gripped her wrist tight. "Riley, I was wrong. We aren't getting a divorce. We have Lory. She's so small... how could you bear to rip her away from me?"

Riley's lips curled into a cold, mocking sneer. "Now you remember Lory? When you were cheating on me, why didn't you remember you had a daughter? Why didn't you think about your responsibilities as a father? Using her as an excuse now is completely pathetic. It's too late!"

Riley tried to yank her hand away, but Pierce didn't let go. Instead, he pulled her forcefully into his chest, locking his arms around her. "Riley, I love you. Please don't leave me. As long as you stay, I'll give you whatever you want."

The feel of his chest, the scent of his cologne—everything about him made Riley physically nauseous. She thrashed violently, but his arms were like iron bars, clamping her tight. She couldn't break free.

In a moment of pure desperation, she lifted her foot and stomped on Pierce's foot as hard as she could. When he flinched in pain and his grip loosened, Riley shoved him away with all her might. "I don't want anything from you! I just want a divorce!"

"Riley..."

"Enough!" Arthur slammed his cane against the floor twice. He was practically vibrating with rage. To think his pride and joy, his heir, would grovel so pathetically for a woman. It was a complete humiliation.

The living room instantly fell dead silent.

Arthur locked eyes with Riley. "You can have your divorce, but..."

"Grandpa," Pierce interrupted quickly. Before he could say another word, he met Arthur's warning glare. The two men locked eyes for a few intense seconds. Pierce seemed to read something in his grandfather's expression, lowered his gaze, and went silent.

Arthur looked back at Riley. "If you want this divorce, you must agree to two conditions."

Riley stood tall. "What are they?"

"First, you are never to speak a word of Pierce's infidelity to anyone."
