Riley arrived at Aegis General. This time, she didn't ask Miles to come down to get her. Having been here once before, she knew the way to his office.
Seraphina Sutton stepped out of the private elevator on the VIP floor just in time to see Riley enter the regular elevator lobby.
Riley?
Thinking she had misread the situation, she carefully followed, confirming that it was indeed Riley standing there. A frown formed between her brows.
Why was Riley here?
Seraphina watched Riley step into the elevator, then turned and walked over to the information desk in the lobby. "Excuse me, what was that pregnant woman doing here?"
The nurse looked up. "Which pregnant woman?"
"The heavily pregnant one. About to pop. She's... quite pretty," Seraphina added, the last part laced with clear reluctance.
The nurse instantly recalled. "Oh, you must mean Dr. Miller's junior. I saw Dr. Miller personally come down to receive her last time."
"Dr. Miller is a physician here?"
The nurse nodded proudly. "Yes, he's the youngest professor at our hospital."
"Thank you." Seraphina glanced toward the elevators, her red lips curving into a slow smile as a calculating gleam flashed in her eyes.
Riley reached Miles's office.
Miles immediately directed her to sit in the guest area. "I told you last time, if you have any questions about the paper, you can just call or message me. You shouldn't be running around in your condition."
Riley smiled. "I'm not made of glass. Besides, walking around properly before delivery helps with labor."
Miles nodded. "Finished the paper?"
"Yes, I'd appreciate it if you could take another look." Riley sent the document to Miles.
Miles adjusted his glasses and read the paper carefully. A moment later, he nodded in approval. "I think it looks great. You have extensive clinical experience, Riley, and you've explained many parts in a way that's more concrete and easier to understand than I could have."
