169 Attack on Sidus
Walking out of the mansion, the brisk wind that swept around them almost felt pleasant.
As they made their way down the stairs, Ophelia gripped the hem of her dress and smiled at their intertwined hands. “It looks it’s going snow soon.” Muttering under her breath, she looked up at the irate, dark clouds.
“It’s a blizzard.” Nikolai tightened his hold on her hand and guided her across a wide area of land away from the frozen fountain. Slowly, he let go of her hand and she waved at him with a smile which he returned with a
soft chuckle.
Ophelia took a step away from him, pressed her palms together, and let out a heavy breath that came out frigid. Golden scales appeared under her eyes in an instant, and when her eyes opened, they revealed themselves to be in their glowing golden reptile–like form.
Observing intently, Nikolai’s eyes shifted into their thick, black demon form, alert as golden fire burst from her body and swirled around her forcefully until she was completely out of sight.
The flames grew stronger, smoldering and churning like a fire tornado. It would be disastrous if it became a hurricane.
All of a sudden, the fire diminished and disappeared, seemingly absorbed by
her.
Ophelia heaved heavily
She was thankful that she was feeling so much better, but she couldn’t stop struggling to breathe.
Moving her golden eyes to Nikolai, she straightened up and crossed her
arms over her chest when she caught sight of those menacing demon eyes.

“Lai Lai,” She murmured as she approached him, her eyes beaming.
Nikolai’s eyes returned to normal and he began walking towards her until they finally met in the middle. Instantly, he wrapped his arms around her and bent his head, letting his forehead rest against hers.
“How do you feel?”
“Much better.”
“Do you want to make me feel better?” Nikolai muttered softly, his crimson eyes darkening with attention on her neck and his fangs elongating. He stared intently at the bite mark that appeared delicately.
“Yes.” His tremendous hunger was evident in his altered presence, but Ophelia was too engrossed in their proximity to notice it.
“Are you sure?”
“Ye-”

out.
Ophelia looked over and noticed that Lev was smiling brightly as he ran toward them. “Lev!” She wrenched free from Nikolai, who groaned and watched her with a grimace as she dashed into his brother’s embrace.
“You’re okay!” Lev threw his arms around her.
“I am sorry… I wasn’t intending to frighten you.” Ophelia whispered and pulled away from his hug. She put her palm on his cheek with a confident, tranquil smile. “You need not worry about me.”
“Everything that happened back then.. it was not normal,” Lev mumbled, lowering his gaze.
Ophelia slowly lost her smile and dropped her hand. “To be completely

sincere, I believe it was definitely not supposed to happen.” She then looked at Nikolai, who was displaying a look of disapproval.
“Did you have an encounter with the fire god before the wedding, FireStorm?”
Ophelia’s eyes widened. That was a question she didn’t anticipate at all.
“Fire god?” Puzzled, Lev asked.
“FireStorm,” Nikolai drewled, eager to hear her response even though, based on her shocked expression, he already knew the answer.
“Ophelia?” Lev called, gazing at Ophelia with curiosity.
“I did.” Ophelia exhaled and let her eyes wander to the fountain of frozen water in front of her. “He said something about a curse.”
Nikolai’s expression grew serious.
“Curse?!” Lev was shocked beyond belief.
“Your majesty!” Eriks, Artem, yelled out of nowhere and when they arrived at the scene, they were both panting/heavily and appeared to have been in a battle.
What’s going on?” Nikolai furrowed his brow.

“Prepare.” Hissing with resentment, Nikolai took hold of Ophelia’s arm and the two of them disappeared from view, resurfacing in the sitting room of

Esmeralda approached her with a bewildered expression. “What’s happening? Why are we leaving so suddenly?”
“There are dragons in Sidus and I think they are here for I and Lev.” Ophelia muttered, feeling quite uneasy. She was aware that Nikolai would not let her go under any circumstances, and even if she did at this rate voluntarily, he would surely declare war on her behalf right away.
“Let’s go.” She walked past Esmeralda, who trailed behind her right away. They didn’t take long to change into pants and heavy, thick cloaks to keep
warm.
“Do you think it’s Esteban himself?” Observing Ophelia put on her boots, Esmeralda questioned.
“It is clear that he is the reason for this abrupt emergence. I will not be returning to Fireria, especially in light of the fact that both he and Rodion
