The Moment I Stepped Into His World as the Fake Girlfriend, I Became the Real Prize novel Chapter 53

"What did you say? What happened to Elena?"

Sterling's tone turned icy as he questioned Lorelei.

"It's Sasha Sheridan! She's dead set on proving Elena is the other woman and took a whole group to corner her!"

Sensing that the heir wasn't entirely indifferent, Lorelei breathed a sigh of relief after making a tough call.

"I told Ms. Larkin you were here with the school belle and asked her to come find you. She trusted you completely, believing you'd never betray her—"

Lorelei gasped for air as she anxiously urged him on.

"Sterling, Ms. Larkin is your girlfriend. She's so beautiful, fragile, and innocent, and right now she's all alone with no one to help her. You have to go save her!"

Perhaps her description was just too vivid, for Sterling spun around and strode off, entirely ignoring Lydia.

Lydia lowered her eyes, glancing down at the ground.

He had picked up the branch and taken it with him, leaving behind a few scattered petals that looked as tragic as they were beautiful.

Quickly pulling herself together, she reversed their roles and jogged after Sterling.

Before entering the restroom, Elena bumped into Leon Lester and Liam Lennox by chance.

Liam frowned as he looked at her, hesitating to step forward.

Leon, on the other hand, was the exact opposite. With one hand in his pocket and the other holding his phone, he sauntered over and blocked her path.

"Ms. Larkin, let's exchange contacts. It'll make it easier for me to patronize your business."

His tone was flippant. The way he stared at her was like a predator zeroing in on its prey, his malicious intent glaringly obvious.

"I'm so sorry, my phone is dead."

Elena offered a superficial smile that didn't reach her eyes.

Then, she moved to the side, trying to slip past him.

But Leon shifted his feet, blocking her again. "Don't be in such a rush to leave, Ms. Larkin. I just wanted to ask how long Sterling bought you for. Once he's done, I'll take over the tab."

Elena gave a nonchalant nod and walked straight into the restroom.

"Leon, she's with Sterling right now. Stop messing around with her!"

Liam shot Leon a warning look. "If you have a type, go find it on your own time. Don't go asking for trouble!"

"Stunners like her are way too hard to find."

Leon pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and took a deep drag. "Relax, I know she's Sterling's girl right now. I wasn't going to actually do anything."

Seeing Liam's skeptical expression, he scoffed. "Don't forget, Sterling only hired her to put on a show. It's not like he's actually going to touch her. What's the harm in teasing her a bit?"

"She's just a lounge hostess. She'll do anything for money, and I wouldn't underpay her. Even if Sterling found out, he wouldn't care. Stop worrying for nothing!"

Liam nudged him, still harboring doubts. "I feel like she's not that kind of woman. Plus, didn't you hear Xavier mention the hickey on Sterling's neck? What if it was Ms. Larkin..."

"Do you really think that's possible? Xavier is just overthinking things. It's not like we don't know how devoted Sterling is to the school belle!"

"As for Elena, she's just playing innocent. All those illegitimate kids circling our social circles are born from women just like her. She's manipulative to the core!"
