The Moment I Stepped Into His World as the Fake Girlfriend, I Became the Real Prize novel Chapter 86

The only logical explanation was that he had pretended to be poor back then.

To her, he had just been a broke loser dragging her down.

Women were all exactly the same—obsessed with money. And she was no exception.

She was only throwing herself at Sterling for the massive payday!

"Quiet. Stop whining."

Sterling shot her a warning glance before aggressively untying his bathrobe and shrugging it off.

In an instant, his chest was entirely bare.

Elena froze, her eyes immediately locked onto his incredibly toned torso.

Watching them, Xavier pressed his tongue hard against the inside of his cheek, his face practically turning black with fury.

Without a second thought, Sterling wrapped the heavy robe around Elena, completely burying her scandalous outfit.

"Didn't you want a hug?"

Seeing her stand there dumbfounded, he let out an annoyed sigh and just yanked her flush against his bare chest.

Caught off guard, Elena's face slammed right into his warm pecs.

He smelled incredible—like fresh rain and expensive, masculine body wash.

He ran incredibly hot, the solid wall of muscle beneath her radiating an intense, comforting heat.

Compared to Xavier's darker aesthetic, Sterling's skin was luminous, his lean, athletic build practically begging to be touched.

She even snuck a peek at the sharp lines of his lower stomach.

Unable to help herself, Elena let her small hand drift downward, pressing her palm flat against his abs.

It was mesmerizing.

"Stop playing around. He's watching," Sterling hissed.

Just as she went to trace the muscle, Sterling clamped his hand over her wrist, pulling it away.

His entire body had seized up the second she touched him.

"You can touch all you want when we get back to my room," he muttered under his breath.

He just wanted to squash this beef so he could drag Elena back to his room and lecture her.

Xavier kept his eyes glued to their intertwined hands, the sight practically burning his retinas.

"Fine. Consider the slap... forgiven," he ground out, shutting his eyes.

Meaning, everything else was absolutely not forgiven.

Sterling missed the hidden threat, but Elena caught it instantly, squeezing Sterling's hand for comfort.

"Sterls, he's been lying like that since I walked in. Do you think he's sick?"

Elena looked up at Sterling with wicked innocence. "He looks awful. Do you think he's physically incapable of getting out of bed?"

"Why don't you try to help him up? I can run out and call for a doctor."

Xavier's head snapped up, glaring pure murder at Elena.

Hidden from Sterling's line of sight, she flashed Xavier a devastatingly mocking smile.

It was an outright declaration of war!
