The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 675

"No thanks. I appreciate the offer, but I'm hanging up now," Danny says dryly, immediately ending the call.

He kept Luke in the dark on purpose. That guy is far too loud and excessively flashy. If Luke had gotten involved in the planning, the confession would have turned into a theatrical circus. Danny knows Tara prefers genuine sincerity over gaudy displays. If he had let Luke ruin it and Tara rejected him, he would be the one crying.

Tossing his phone aside, Danny turns his attention back to his stunning girlfriend. She is still giggling, her eyes dancing with amusement.

Without warning, he reaches over and tickles her waist.

"Hahaha! Stop! What are you doing?" Tara squeals, dissolving into fits of laughter. She rarely laughs this freely, but today is a perfect day. She is incandescently happy.

"That's the price for laughing at me," Danny teases. He knows exactly how ticklish she is.

Tara squirms, trying to swat his hands away while letting out a breathless, flirtatious giggle. "I surrender! I promise I won't laugh at you anymore."

Seeing her so radiant and full of life, Danny's heart swells with a heavy, intoxicating affection. He stops teasing her, his gaze turning dark and heated.

Still catching her breath, Tara lightly smacks his shoulder. "You're a bully."

Danny catches her hand, pulling her effortlessly against his solid chest. His voice drops into a seductive rumble. "I only bully you."

Tara rests her cheek against him, listening to the steady, comforting thud of his heartbeat. A beautiful flush creeps up her neck. The temperature in the car instantly spikes, heavy with unspoken tension and deep affection.

[Haters need to shut up and get out! That Sinclair girl was just a business arrangement, and they called off the engagement amicably. Stop reaching!]

[Seriously, people are just jealous of her happiness. As if any of you could land a man like that!]

Amidst the sea of overwhelming support, a few bitter trolls attempt to drag Tara down, but they are instantly obliterated by her fiercely protective fans. The overwhelming consensus is pure, celebratory joy.

Meanwhile, at the Sinclair family estate.

"Julianna! Did you see the news?" Bonnie yells, bursting into Julianna's private quarters. "Danny publicly confessed to that Dennis bitch! In front of everyone! It's so infuriating! How could he put on a show like that for her? Does he have any respect for you at all?"
