The Scorned Heiress: No More Mercy novel Chapter 695

The Dennis household has been nothing short of a war zone lately. Everyone in the room knows exactly who has suffered the most emotional devastation during this time.

Charles clenches his fists tightly at his sides. He shoots a dark, calculating glare toward Jade, who is standing quietly in the corner.

Turning his attention back to the physician, Charles asks urgently, "Doctor, can her condition be stabilized? What are our treatment options?"

The doctor pushes his glasses up the bridge of his nose, his expression grim. "Her current state is quite severe. She requires immediate inpatient care. We will need to run a comprehensive series of evaluations to map out a targeted treatment plan. However, Severe Myasthenia Gravis at this stage is incredibly complex to manage. The treatment cycle will be long, and honestly, the long-term prognosis is unpredictable."

Jake and Alec exchange a heavy, anxious look.

"Money is not an issue," Jake states firmly. "Whatever it takes, whatever experimental treatments you need to source, the Dennis family will cover it. We will cooperate entirely."

"That's good to hear," the doctor nods. "As her family, you need to prepare yourselves mentally. You must keep a close eye on her emotional state. A calm, supportive environment is absolutely vital to preventing further decline."

At that moment, a nurse steps out to inform them that Deanna is regaining consciousness.

Though Deanna's eyes flutter open, her body remains entirely lifeless. She is trapped, unable to move a single muscle or utter a single word.

The moment she spots Jade standing near the doorway, Deanna's eyes lock onto her with an intensity so venomous it could kill. If looks could physically tear a person apart, Jade would be shredded into pieces.

Slowly, agonizingly, Deanna shifts her gaze to her husband. Her eyes swim with a heartbreaking mixture of deep grievance, sorrow, and desperate love.

"Dad, it's not like that," Jade pleads, deploying the exact same victim routine that worked flawlessly on Nikolai. "I didn't think Mom would hate seeing me this much. I just missed her so terribly. I only wanted to check on her."

Unfortunately for Jade, Charles is far from the gullible fools he raised.

"Your adoptive mother now knows you are the product of my affair," Charles says, his voice cold and analytical. "Are you telling me you truly believed she would welcome you with open arms? You're not stupid, Jade. You knew exactly how much she despises you. You knew seeing you would trigger her. So I'll ask you again—what was your real intention in going to see her today?"

"I..." Jade stammers, completely blindsided by his razor-sharp deduction. She struggles to find an excuse.

"She is no longer your mother," Charles snaps, cutting her off. "You are forbidden from seeing her in private ever again!"
