The Ugly Wife’s Stunning Comeback (Felicia and Max) novel Chapter 1062

Max turned his head to look at her, a faint smile playing on his thin lips.

Felicia frowned. Thinking back to that time, Luke had mentioned he went abroad shortly after. How did Max know she had feelings for him back then?

As if seeing right through her thoughts, Max murmured, "You stared straight at me with those big eyes, as if afraid others wouldn't notice your intentions."

Instantly, Felicia felt an overwhelming urge to find a hole and hide. "What are you talking about?" she snapped.

The curve of Max's lips deepened as he retorted calmly, "Isn’t that the truth?"

Felicia glared at him. "To remember it so clearly, should I say you have a good memory, or should I call you superficial?"

Max chuckled, admitting frankly, "You could say both."

Felicia was speechless.

"I admit I'm quite superficial," Max continued. "Who doesn't like pretty things? If I hadn't been good-looking, would you have given me a second glance?"

Her expression darkened. She withdrew her gaze and turned back to the window, remaining silent.

The car was quiet for a few seconds.

"I know I caused you a lot of hurt in the past, and I won't deny what I've done. But now, I want you to stay by my side."

His words drifted into her ears. Felicia lowered her eyes in silence, her hands continuously clenching into fists on her lap.

"Even if it's just for Anne, give me, and give yourself, a chance."

They walked into the villa together, neither of them speaking.

It wasn't until they entered the living room that they encountered anyone. Colton was the only one there, watching TV. Greg and Darin hadn't returned yet, and Ava was upstairs putting Sean to sleep.

Hearing the noise, Colton turned around. He was startled to see who had walked in and was about to say something. Felicia quickly raised a finger to her lips, making a shushing gesture. Noticing the sleeping Anne, Colton immediately quieted down.

Max carried Anne straight upstairs to Felicia's bedroom. He gently laid her on the bed and took off her shoes. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he watched Anne for a moment before standing up. He didn't linger. Looking at the woman standing opposite him, he lowered his voice and said, "I'll come pick you both up around ten tomorrow morning."

Felicia's gaze was fixed on Anne. She didn't respond.

Max gave her one last, deep look, then turned and walked out of the bedroom.
