"Uncle Darin," Anne greeted cheerfully.
Darin walked over, though he stopped a couple of steps away so his sweaty clothes wouldn't touch her. "Good morning, Anne. You're up so early."
"Mhm, Daddy is coming to pick Mommy and me up," she chirped.
Darin looked at Felicia, a question in his eyes. "You have plans?"
"Max arranged a private tutor for Anne," Felicia explained. "We're going to meet the professor."
Darin nodded. He knew Max intended to cultivate Anne to become his heir, so he didn't press the matter for now. He headed back to his room to shower and change.
During breakfast, Felicia didn't see Greg. He probably hadn't come home last night. Ava seemed quite pleased. As long as Greg and Heather were getting along well, she was happy.
Colton, however, was subtly dropping hints, turning to Darin. "Darin, do you think your old man is about to become a grandfather?"
Darin looked at his father. "You'll have to ask Greg about that, Dad."
"Well, tell me, how many grandsons and granddaughters do you think I'll have in the future?" Colton persisted.
Darin pressed his lips together. How could he not understand the underlying implication in his father's words?
Ava shot Colton a warning look. "Just focus on taking care of your own young son first."
Colton chuckled. "I have to ask so I can prepare a few generous gifts in advance."
Around nine-thirty, Max drove up to the Ross family villa. He stepped out of the car wearing a highly stylized navy blue V-neck top made of a silky satin-like material, with a ribbon detail draped over one shoulder. Paired with straight-cut black trousers and his short hair neatly styled with a side part, he looked crisp and sophisticated. With his deep-set eyes and handsome features, he exuded an aura of elegant indolence, a stark contrast to his usual formal attire.
"Daddy!" Anne cheered.
Felicia looked at him and reiterated, "I already have plans today."
"You didn't tell me beforehand," Max argued smoothly. "Anyway, I set aside the whole day for you today. You figure it out."
Felicia's delicate brows furrowed. He was being completely unreasonable and overbearing again. Sure enough, this was his true nature. Not wanting to argue in front of Anne, she opted not to respond to his demand. "Where are the classes being held?" she asked instead.
"For today, it's temporarily arranged at the professor's office," Max replied. He had originally planned for the private tutor to come to the house, but for today, they had to bring Anne over.
The car drove out of the villa community, with Darin following closely behind in his own car.
When they arrived at a certain office building, the assigned teacher was already waiting downstairs, along with the nanny and bodyguards assigned to Anne.
They got out of the car. The teacher stepped forward and extended his hand. "Mr. Hawthorne."

Oh nooo!! Don’t tell me Max will get washed ashore on a remote island then loses all his memory, then falls inlove with the local girl who saves him. Then when he meets Felicia again he won’t recognize her and breaks her heart again. Additional plot twist is that Felicia is pregnant with their 2nd child. Please pleaseee don’t give us this scenario.. LOL!!!...
If Max can be forgiven Darrin can be forgiven. And I do not like this marriage business but if it has to happen I hope after he gets stranded on some remote island alone while Felicia and his family fight over custody she wins and also gets half his estate. Then by time he comes back she's found having and remarried. Lol...
The writer is good. They're making me interested in Max. I won't say like yet....
It seems the only one who hasn't suffered is Max. Even his family fakes anger and disappointment all their own doing so they suffer a little. Everyone else has suffered. Luke and Jeremy unrequited. Felicia has suffered the most from family to unrequited to romance to long suffering Mother. Even baby Anne never had a mother til Felicia suffered then came back only to suffer some more. lol...
Oh no what did Colton do?... I have a bone to pick. When Olisha had to go the hospital why beg for Felicia? When she so loved Max? Seemed like she was in on the setup for Felicia to see a suicide for the 2nd time orchestrated by holden and his brother again. I might drop this series it's becoming endless with no real satisfaction for me. I don't need it to end because it's like a soap opera but if things don't end up making sense, tying up loose storylines it's gonna get old fast for me. Good luck author....
Anne, I think your baby brother is on the way. Thank goodness it doesn't say that Felicia is crying just like the last time but still, there's no willingness on her part. Max! You need to try harder. Make her fall in love with you again....
