After the Unity Group scandal blew up, the Meyers family was having a rough time, and they were just waiting for a chance to vent their frustrations on Brianna.

Brianna was well aware of their intentions, but she had zero interest in getting dragged into their petty squabbles. So, she simply packed up and moved back into the Levy family home.

When Brandon got home from work, he found Brianna sitting on the couch with their daughter, Kendra, watching cartoons.

He stopped in his tracks, a hint of happiness flashing in his eyes, though his voice was as calm as ever. “You’re back?”

“Yeah, just wanted to spend some time with Kendra,” Brianna wasn’t about to admit she came back just to enjoy some peace and quiet for a while.

Kendra was over the moon to have her mother back.

During summer break, when Brianna wasn’t around and Brandon was busy, he’d send Kendra to her grandmother’s place.

Now that Brianna was back, Kendra hoped she wouldn’t have to go to her grandmother’s anymore.

“Mom, are you going to stay this time?” Kendra asked, her eyes full of hope.

“Yeah, I’m not leaving for now.”

Brandon was taking a sip of water when he heard her answer and nearly choked, coughing hard.

Brianna gave him a dramatic eye roll behind his back. ‘Annoyed? Suck it up.

Since Brianna planned to stick around for a while, she moved into the guest room. Everyone kept to themselves, and there was no drama. Life was pretty chill.

On Friday morning, the whole family was sitting around the dining table, having breakfast.

Brandon suddenly asked, “You’re going to the charity gala tonight, right?”

“Yeah,” Brianna said, looking up at him. “What about you. Are you going too?”

“I’ll come pick you up this afternoon,” Brandon said, then got up and left.

Brianna didn’t object. By now, it was just routine for them to show up together at these kinds of events,

That afternoon, Brianna went home, slipped into a formal gown, put on some makeup, and waited for Brandon to arrive.

Tonight’s charity auction was featuring one of her pieces, so she needed to dress up a bit more formally,

She styled her hair into an elegant updo, wore a classic-style black dress, and finished the look with pearl earrings and a necklace. She looked like a doll. Chic, sophisticated, and with an icy elegance.

Seeing her mother all dressed up, Kendra turned into a total clingy kid, constantly hugging and snuggling up to Brianna.

“Mom, you’re the most beautiful person in the whole world,” Kendra said, her eyes full of her mother’s reflection. “With you looking this pretty, Dad’s gonna love you even more.”

Brianna smiled at her daughter’s compliment, but the last thing Kendra said made her pause. It just sounded weird.

She really didn’t like the idea of judging women just by their looks, and she definitely didn’t want Kendra picking up that kind of thinking.

She gently nudged Kendra, asking, “Why do you think Dad will love me just because I’m pretty?”

She really wanted to tell Kendra that a girl’s beauty wasn’t just about how she looked, and that people deserved love for who they were, not just for their appearance.

“Aunt Darcy told me,” Kendra said without hesitation. Ever since Brianna moved back in, the two of them had grown a lot closer.

“Aunt Darcy?” Brianna blinked, her lashes fluttering. “What did she say to you?”

“She said if you dress up nice, Dad will definitely love you. You’re even prettier than her now, so Dad’s gonna love you the most,” Kendra replied.

Brianna’s smile faded, and she forgot all about trying to guide Kendra’s thinking. “Have you been talking to Aunt Darcy lately?”

“Yeah, she’s back,” Kendra said, testing the waters to see if her mother still held a grudge against Darcy.

“She’s back?” Brianna was stunned.

‘Even with a private investigator tailing her, how did she manage to come back under the radar? Guess the calm days are over.

When Brandon came to pick up Brianna, he was visibly stunned by how gorgeous she looked.

Seeing her in those sleek high heels, he offered his arm like a true gentleman, helping her out the door,

Brianna cast him a sideways glance. ‘Men really are such visual creatures.

They arrived at the auction hall together.

Clair was already there, and when he spotted Brianna from across the room, his eyes lit up with a smile as he walked over to greet them.

But seeing Brianna holding onto Brandon’s arm made him feel a little sour inside. He kept his feelings in check and led them to their seats in the front row.

The auction hadn’t started yet, so Brianna sat quietly, flipping through the brochure of tonight’s auction

items.

As soon as Brandon walked in, all eyes were on him. People kept coming up to greet him, one after another.

Brianna would occasionally look up and shake hands or exchange greetings with people.

It wasn’t until the host took the stage that Brandon finally got a moment to relax. He turned to check out the brochure in Brianna’s hands. “Anything catch your eye?”

“Yeah, there are quite a few I like,” Brianna said, her mood clearly upbeat.

“Then let’s get them all,” Brandon replied with a smile, his eyes full of affection.

Brianna turned away, reminding herself that his tenderness always brought her back to reality.

The auction kicked off. Soon enough, one Brianna had been eyeing, a museum-quality pink diamond necklace, was brought out.

Brandon caught the sparkle in her eyes and smirked. He turned slightly toward her, whispering in her ear.

“If you want it, just bid for it. Your husband’s got deep pockets,” Brandon joked, patting his pocket.

Brianna shot him a dramatic eye roll. ‘Did he show up tipsy? Seriously, he’s being ridiculous again.’

The auctioneer was introducing the piece. It was crafted back in the 1890s. The centerpiece, a pink diamond, was top-tier in purity and brilliance, weighing a whopping 25 carats.

This necklace also had a wild backstory.

It was originally designed by Dexter Gems for a Losania duchess. Amidst the turmoil of war, it changed hands multiple times, until Dexter eventually reacquired it.

There was no doubt this necklace was one of the star lots of the night.

The auctioneer announced the starting bid: 15 million dollars. Paddles kept going up, the price climbing fast, but Brianna just watched, not making a move yet.

Brandon glanced over at her, a playful smile on his lips. “If you don’t bid soon, someone else is gonna snatch it up.”

By now, the price had already shot up to 50 million dollars. The number of bidders was starting to thin out.

“50 million dollars. Do I hear any more bids?” the auctioneer called out.

Brianna finally raised her paddle.

“52 million dollars, thank you, Mrs. Levy. Any more bids at 152 million?” the auctioneer asked.

There were still a few bidders left, and after several more rounds, the price reached 65 million dollars.

Brianna hesitated. The number was getting outrageous, and she wasn’t sure if she should keep pushing her Juck.

She glanced at Brandon. Since he was the one paying, it all depended on his call.

Brandon nodded at her, giving her the go-ahead to keep bidding.

Her cheeks flushed with nervous excitement, and her eyes shone with anticipation.

Someone else clearly had their heart set on this necklace too. The price had already climbed to 83 million dollars, and they were still going head-to-head with her.

Brianna gripped Brandon’s arm, her nerves getting the better of her.

Seeing her so animated, Brandon’s face softened with affection.

When the other bidder raised the price again, Brandon raised his paddle. “90 million dollars.”

The usual increment was just 165 thousand dollars, but Brandon bumped it up by over 3 million dollars. Everyone in the room gasped in surprise.

No one spoiled his wife quite like the richest man.

Brianna hadn’t expected him to be this generous. She looked at him, a little starstruck, her admiration growing by the second.

Just when they thought the deal was sealed, a sharp female voice rang out. “93 million dollars.”

The crowd gasped, murmurs rippling through the room.

‘Someone’s actually bold enough to challenge Mr. Levy? Who is she?’ Everyone wondered.

Even Brianna and Brandon turned to see who this woman was.

At the edge of the front row, a woman in a red strap dress peeked out, giving Brandon a dazzling, playful smile.

Brianna turned and caught the look of delight in Brandon’s eyes.

“Do you know her?” she asked, unable to hide her curiosity.

“Yeah, just an old friend,” Brandon said casually, shrugging it off.

The bidding kept going, but at this point, it was basically the two of them openly flirting in front of everyone.

They chased each other’s bids, neither willing to give an inch, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife.

Finally, Brandon dropped a jaw-dropping 115 million and snagged the necklace for himself.

Brianna caught herself staring at the spark in Brandon’s eyes, momentarily lost in thought. He looked so vibrant and animated, almost electric. She’d never seen this side of him before.

The rest of the auction felt pretty lackluster after that.

The only time Brianna got excited again was when the winning pieces from the jewelry competition and her own designs hit the stage.

As soon as the auction ended, Brandon practically jumped to his feet. He subconsciously adjusted his suit jacket, took Brianna’s hand, and walked towards the woman in the red dress.

The dress hugged her figure in all the right places, showing off every curve.

Unlike the other women in the room, she had a warm, sun-kissed glow and defined arms. She was clearly someone who lived outdoors and radiated health and energy.

Brianna looked at her and thought, “This woman is pure, raw vitality.

Brandon’s eyes were full of appreciation as he looked at her.

“Long time no see, Allison,” he said, turning to her. “This is my wife, Brianna. And this is Allison Moore, a friend from college.”

Brianna reached out her hand. “Nice to meet you!”

Allison beamed. “I’ve heard Brandon married a total goddess, and now that I see you, I get it. He really did!”

As they were chatting, Clifford, who hadn’t been around in forever, showed up and joined the group.

“See? I’m a solid friend, right?” Clifford said, giving Brandon a knowing look. “The moment I heard your first love was back in town, I made sure she came tonight for you.”

Brianna glanced at Brandon. ‘So that’s why he’s so excited. His first love is back.

Seeing Brianna’s mood drop, Clifford smiled and reassured her, “Hey, don’t be upset. You and Amson have your own kind of beauty.”

Brianna chuckled, shaking her head at herself. ‘Why am I even stressing over this?’

She picked up her glass and turned to leave.

Clair was looking for her, wanting to introduce her to a few jewelry collectors from Seavale and Portview.

Brianna was caught up in the socializing and, for a moment, forgot all about Allison.

Brandon glanced around and suddenly realized Brianna was no longer by his side. He looked up, scanning the crowd, and quickly spotted her with Clair and the others, laughing and looking completely at ease.

His hand unconsciously tightened around his glass.

Just then, a figure appeared at the entrance of the banquet hall, and a small commotion broke out among

guests.

‘Is that Kane Flynn, Seavale’s richest man? What’s he doing here?’ the guests murmured in surprise.

Kane walked over to Allison, hands in his pockets and a relaxed grin on his face.

Unlike Brandon’s restrained elegance, Kane had a laid-back, rebellious air, and those seductive eyes of his seemed to draw people in.
