He pulled a document out of his briefcase and handed it across the table.
The Lockwood Group logo was printed boldly on the cover, right above the title: *Preliminary Proposal for Advanced Energy Development Project*.
Cynthia took it, flipped past the cover page, and scanned the text line by line.
About fifteen minutes later, she closed the folder, a gleam of satisfaction in her eyes.
"It's very well written. The data backing it is solid."
She set the document down. "Looking at this, the most critical bottleneck is going to be raw material supply and the execution of clinical trials. And currently, the only domestic company equipped to handle both flawlessly is Zenith Energy."
Dominic's expression grew serious.
"Zenith Energy."
He frowned slightly. "I've had my people reach out a few times, but they've only ever managed to get a hold of their VP, Mr. Quincy. He's polite, but completely non-committal. He made it clear that the final decision rests entirely with their CEO."
He let out a frustrated sigh.
"But this CEO is a total ghost. Nobody has seen him in years. The industry knows Zenith Energy is the undisputed king of the sector, but as for the man running it? His face, his background, his identity—it's a total mystery."
Listening to him, Cynthia's lips curved into a confident, knowing smile.
"I might actually have a way in."
She spoke with calculated slowness. "Next week, Zenith Energy is hosting an exclusive partner recruitment summit at The Northport Pavilion. It's strictly invite-only. The guest list is incredibly tight, but I managed to secure a spot."
She met Dominic's gaze, her eyes shining with certainty. "We'll go together. We'll get a face-to-face meeting with their executives and lock this deal down."
The surprise in Dominic's eyes melted into admiration.
"You already looked into this."
"I was right. You really are an incredible asset."
Cynthia raised her wine glass toward him. "So stop worrying. If it matters to you, it matters to me."
Dominic picked up his coffee cup, gently clinking it against the air in her direction.
