Who Knew My Assigned Mechanic Husband Was a Big Shot? novel Chapter 6

Judging by the coloration and texture of the scar tissue, the injury was clearly sustained several months ago.

Post-concussion syndrome!

Sloane hadn't just studied traditional Western medicine; she was also extensively trained in holistic acupressure.

Kneeling on the damp bathroom tiles right beside this magnificent, nearly naked man, she began expertly massaging the pressure points on his head.

The thick steam in the bathroom slowly dissipated.

Under her skilled hands, Logan's blinding headache gradually receded.

He tried to push himself up.

But Sloane remained crouched right beside him.

Leaning in close, she asked softly, "Are you feeling any better?"

"Much better. Do me a favor and grab my bathrobe."

Sloane handed him the heavy robe, waiting politely for him to secure it before offering a hand to help him up.

But he was incredibly heavy and mostly relied on his own strength to get to his feet.

"Go lie down on the couch for a minute," Sloane instructed.

The living room was just steps away.

Once Logan was settled on the sofa, Sloane grabbed a hair dryer and carefully dried his damp hair.

When she was done, she couldn't help but ask, "How exactly did you get that scar on your head?"

"A fight."

"A... fight?" Sloane's heart skipped a beat. Did her state-mandated husband have a criminal record for splitting someone's head open?

"Relax, it was self-defense. I don't have a record."

"How often do you get these headaches?"

"Every few days or so."

"Is the pain completely gone now?"

"Yeah, I'm good."

Logan had gone out for a run at the crack of dawn. The migraine had hit him like a freight train the second he stepped into the shower.

"I didn't scare you just now, did I?" he asked, his dark gaze unreadable.

"N-No!" She had just seen a few things she definitely wasn't prepared for.

But she was a medical professional. It wasn't a big deal.

Sloane brushed it off. "Let me massage those pressure points a little longer. I studied holistic therapy."

Logan looked mildly surprised. "I thought you were a surgical resident. When did you have time to learn alternative medicine?"

"I studied holistic acupressure alongside traditional medicine."

"Makes sense," Logan said, a faint smirk returning to his lips.

"What makes sense?" Sloane frowned, confused by his tone.
