You Had Me, You Lost Me, You'll Never Find Me novel Chapter 65

Sylvia's gaze froze, her breathing growing slightly erratic.

Once was a coincidence. Twice was intentional.

Penelope started to lose her temper. "Do you just make a habit out of stealing other people's things?"

The manager interjected diplomatically. "I'm very sorry, miss, but you can't keep doing this."

Reina blinked innocently. "But I clearly had my eye on this one first, didn't I? Even if she wanted it, she didn't say a word."

Sylvia stood perfectly still, her eyes masking a deeply restrained calm. "And what if I refuse to step aside?"

Her nails dug viciously into her palms, but she refused to lower her head, meeting their gaze head-on.

Standing beside Reina, Ashton's sharp eyes flickered with a cold, distant light. He lifted his gaze and said nonchalantly, "You haven't bought it yet, have you? Manager, I'll take both of these dresses. Wrap them up for me right now."

He wasn't just indulging Reina's bratty behavior.

He was protecting her, clearly and unequivocally.

In a split second, all color drained from Sylvia's face. Her vision blacked out momentarily, a dizzying wave washing over her like a severe blood sugar drop.

She quickly lowered her head to hide it.

A bitter smile pulled at the corner of her mouth. Hadn't she realized this a long time ago?

As long as Reina wanted something, it wouldn't matter if Sylvia got to it first—it would never belong to her.

Ashton wanted to take away everything she wanted and desired, piece by piece, to let her understand that nothing truly belonged to her.

No one caught her brief moment of instability, except for Ashton, who frowned slightly.

But before he could step forward.

Sylvia took a step back and grabbed Penelope's sleeve. "Let's go."

"The tests indicate brain compression caused by a hematoma. How long have you been experiencing dizziness? Have you had frequent headaches or vomiting?" the doctor asked, studying the medical report.

Whispers of the Crown was trending heavily on social media.

Normally, a historical drama took at least six months to air, but this production was flush with cash and had ironclad industry connections. Once wrapped, it was greenlit rapidly and hit the screens almost immediately. Fans were raving, showering the supporting actress with praise.

The comments flooded in:

"These fight scenes are incredibly sharp and clean!"

"Every frame is cinematic perfection! She is such a badass, I'm obsessed!"

"I'm so worried about my Reina's back. I can't believe this is my baby's first time doing action scenes!"

When Sylvia watched a specific edited clip, she was utterly in shock.

She was looking at her own scenes.

Even though the director had aggressively cut between wide shots and extreme close-ups, layering on special effects and slow-motion to erase Sylvia's identity, Sylvia had shot those scenes take after grueling take. How could she not recognize her own physical movements?
