She rested her elbow on the table. “I think you should be careful when dealing with her.”
I sighed. “You’re probably right.”

“No seriously,” her expression turned more serious. “Who knows what goes on in her head, given how crazily obsessed she is with Landon, she is more than willing to do anything to have him.””
A chill crawl down my spine. “Even if it means getting you out of the way.” She adds, the words lingering between us.
“Is he even worth it?” Kaia and I turned at the exact same time when another voice joined the conversation.
Sitting across from us was Jace, causally sipping from his drink while watching us. I had already forgotten that he had been here and had come with us.
His expression was somewhere between intrigued and confused,, like he had accidentally walked into a reality show and wasn’t sure whether to stay or run.
I raised an eyebrow. “Why are you even here, don’t you have football practice or what.”

“It’s the weekend, Delilah.” He says in what sound like disbelief. “And unlike me, aren’t you suppose to be at cheer practice or something. Didn’t you all agree to meet today since cheer practice didn’t hold yesterday.” My lips parted, but no words came

Touché
“I don’t do school on a weekends.”
Jace drops his drink onto the table and a smirk appeared on his face. “Um..I see we are skipping.
I stared at him. “That still doesn’t explain why you’re here.”
He points at Kaia. “She invited me.”
Slowly, I turned toward her and she raised both hands. “It wasn’t like I wanted to.”
“Oh really.”
“Um..yes.”
“Liar.”
She ignores me. “I was walking through the hallway when I saw poor Jace.” Jace frowned as Kaia placed a dramatic hand over her chest. “He was standing there all alone.”
“What…”
“So tired, abandoned and lonely.”
“WHEN HAVE I EVER LOOKED LONELY?” She shots him a look, the kind that screamed play along or die.
Understanding flashes across his face. “Oh..” he straightened and suddenly slumps dramatically in his seat, his shoulders dropped and his lips trembled,
His eyes became ridiculously sad. “I was so lonely,” I rolled my eyes at this. “No one wanted me.”

“I wandered the halls searching for friendship, was but a lost soul.” He batted his eyelashes at me, my gazes shifted from him’ to Kaia, then back to him.
The two of them looked way too proud of themselves and I shake my head. “You both need help.” Their victorious smile widened.
Jace laughs before leaning back and his expression became more thoughtful. “Still, why not just let it go.” He says. “Let the whole thing go, including Landon.”
My jaw tightens. “You said it yourself, he jumped right into conclusions without even knowing the full contex behind your interaction with Sophie.”
Kaia nods. “That is true.”
“This isn’t about Landon anymore.” I huffed. “This is now a beef between me and Sophie, a personal vendece groans
but I ignore him. “A score has to be settled.”
I leaned forward, my jaw clenching. “I still can’t believe that psycho stole my bracelet.
“You mean the same bracelet you bought to make her jealous and miserable.” I narrowed my eyes as he says.
My head whips around toward Kaia who looks away immediately, pretending like and couldn’t feel my

on her.
“Kaia.” She stared at the far end of the café. “Kaia.”
“Okay fine, I might or might not have told him..” she bats her eyes at me.
Traitors
Sighing, I grab my drink and took a sip before pointing at him. “So what if I bought it to get a reaction off her, it still doesn’t change the fact that I bought it with my own money, and regardless of the situation in purchasing it, it’s mine. And I don’t cared what messed up reason she would have to steal it, I want it back.”
The table grew quiet till Kaia spoke. “The only question is how?” i sighed, knowing that was the problem.
How exactly was I supposed to get it back?
Jace shrugged. “You could just walk up to her.” The silence that followed was immediate as Kaia and I both slowly turned toward him.
He looked between us, then visibly shrank. “You can’t be serious.”
“I was trying to help.”
Kaia pointed at him. “You think a psycho obsessed person like Sophie is going to be easy to approach? “he opened his mouth, then closed it, “exactly,” she continued, “the second Delilah asks about the bracelet, Sophie will find a way to twist the story and make herself look innocent.”
I snapped my fingers. “my thoughts exactly..” I say. “We need a smarter way to get the bracelet back and expose her for who she really is.”
The three of us fell silent, thinking, planing, plottin
Okay, maybe plotting was a strong word.
