Chapter 229: Chapter 227: The Three Little Ones Are Unmasked

With the crisis averted, Bai Su slowly withdrew her hand and lowered the protective shield.

She glanced at Leia, who was sprawled out asleep on the ground. After a moment’s thought, she decided to take her along.

’It can’t be helped. Since I can’t kill her, I’ll have to find a way to win her over.’

Bai Su heaved Leia onto her back, redeemed some climbing gear from the System Mall, and, with the help of her other three Clones, began the slow ascent.

Bai Su climbed upward without stopping, but while falling into the Abyss was easy, climbing out was hard.

She had been climbing for two or three hours but had only managed to ascend a little over ten meters.

Panting with exhaustion, she sat down on a stone pillar.

Suddenly, a giant eagle flew over from above.

Bai Su instinctively raised a hand to block it, only to realize the giant eagle seemed to have no hostile intent.

The giant eagle landed on a nearby stone pillar, turned its back to her, and crouched down.

Feeling a bit bolder, Bai Su tried climbing onto the giant eagle’s back.

Once it was sure she was securely on, the giant eagle began to slowly flap its wings and take off.

Bai Su quickly gripped the soft feathers on its back.

’I knew it.’

Bai Su sighed in relief, lying flat on the giant eagle’s back.

As the giant eagle continued to fly upward, Bai Su finally had the presence of mind to observe the cliffs on either side.

It was an absolutely spectacular view of the cliffs. If not for this fortunate encounter, she might have never seen it in her entire life.

Gratefully, Bai Su nuzzled the giant eagle’s back.

Suddenly, she noticed a few small dots moving among the cliffs.

The giant eagle flew past them so quickly that Bai Su didn’t get a clear look.

She quickly redeemed a pair of binoculars from the System Mall to get a better view.

When she saw who was on the stone pillars, her expression tightened instantly.

Bai Su quickly patted the giant eagle. "Can you turn around and pick up those kids? They’re my children!"

The giant eagle let out a sharp cry but showed no intention of turning around or slowing down.

Bai Su grew anxious, unsure if it could understand her.

Just as she was getting worried, an identical sharp cry echoed from the valley below, as if in response to the giant eagle’s call.

Soon, several smaller eagles appeared from the Abyss. They circled in the valley for a moment before stopping in front of her little ones.

Bai Su instinctively reached for her smart device, only to belatedly remember it had been broken in the fall. Her wrist was bare; there was nothing there.

Fortunately, the little ones were clever and quickly understood the eagles’ intentions, climbing onto their backs.

The giant eagle carried Bai Su, flying diagonally upward through the Abyss. It took nearly half an hour before it finally brought her out.

The giant eagle landed with her in a dense, lush forest.

It ingratiatingly nuzzled her with its head, then showed her the wound on its leg.

Bai Su finally understood. The giant eagle had likely been purified by her, knew she possessed a Healing Ability, and had saved her because it wanted something.

A giant eagle that had grown to this size was probably quite old.

The giant eagle nuzzled Bai Su one more time before flying away with its young, returning to the depths of the cliffs.

Bai Xiaolang said without batting an eye, "Little Snake was worried about you. He was crying and begging to come."

Bai Xiaoshe: "Bai Xiao Zhu said we had to come save you, that he can’t live without his mom."

Bai Xiao Zhu: "Little sister wanted to come, and I couldn’t stop her."

Bai Su was so angry she laughed. "Just great."

She singled out Bai Xiaolang. "Is there anything else you’d like to tell me, Mr. President?"

The color drained from Bai Xiaolang’s face. "Wha... what?"

Bai Su unceremoniously bonked each of the kids on the head again. "Did you really think I wouldn’t recognize you?!"

"That putting on a mask and changing your appearance would solve everything?"

Wen Dabao stood to the side, enjoying the drama. "Tsk, tsk. You guys are really too much, hiding something this big from Mom."

Bai Su’s face was grim as she crossed her arms. "I see you’ve all gotten bold! You don’t take me seriously anymore!"
