Leia finally snapped back to her senses, shooting Bai Su a cold, warning glare before returning to the base.
Bai Su, her mission accomplished, turned and left.
The secret passage led out to a forest on the outskirts of the city.
Bai Su was a bit disoriented, and her smart device had been confiscated during her capture.
She hesitated, just about to disappear.
Suddenly, something hit her on the forehead.
Bai Su cried out, "Ouch!" Looking down, she saw it was a jujube.
She rubbed her head and looked up into the tree.
Hidden among the treetops, a figure was faintly visible, clad in a black tank top and long pants. She could just make out wisps of short, silver hair.
The muscles of an arm, peeking through the leaves, were defined and fluid, brimming with explosive power. Its honey-toned skin had the perfect healthy, sexy sheen.
Bai Su rubbed her head. "Who’s up there? Did you throw that at me?"
The tall figure leaped nimbly down from the tree.
The sheer sense of pressure and authority that washed over her made Bai Su frown instinctively. ’He’s too aggressive.’
The man stood still, his scorching gaze fixed on her. "Whose little rabbit are you?"
Bai Su was dumbfounded. "Huh?"
The man was tall, standing nearly six-and-a-half feet. His shadow easily enveloped her completely.
A sharp, rich scent of tequila spread out, easily overwhelming Bai Su’s sweet, fresh peach fragrance.
Generally, a male’s spiritual power scent could be controlled well; you usually couldn’t smell it unless you were very close.
The more powerful the male, the richer their spiritual power scent, and the stronger their ability to contain it.
For a male this powerful to let his spiritual power scent drift on the wind, there were only two possibilities.
Either he was trying to mark his territory and display dominance to other males.
Or he was trying to show off his charm and court a female.
Given the current situation, it was clearly the latter.
Bai Su looked at the man before her, feeling a little speechless.
The man wore only a black tank top, his powerful, steel-like physique on full display. He had the perfect inverted triangle build, eight-pack abs, and veins bulging on muscular arms that looked strong enough to crush steel to dust.
It stood in stark contrast to his impossibly handsome face.
Deep-set features and a cold, sharp appearance—who else could it be but Lu Tingyan?
Bai Su didn’t even know what to say. "Can I help you?"
She relayed the information back to her main body, telling her to abort the rescue mission and call Bai Xiaolang and the others back.
Lu Tingyan’s scorching gaze remained fixed on her. He leaned in slightly, trying to get closer. "I asked, whose little rabbit are you?"
The restless desire in his eyes was almost enough to burn a person to ash.
Bai Su opened her mouth, but suddenly didn’t feel like explaining anymore.
In her mind, her main body, Bai Su, sent her the route back to the city.
Bai Su found the path and headed for the trail.
Lu Tingyan pressed his lips together and followed her. "You’re not from the Medical Alliance, are you?"
"And I’m guessing you’re not the person the Qin Family sent to get me."
"Can you tell me your name?"
"Little rabbit..."
Bai Su barely had to think; Lu Tingyan was already following her.
She glanced at the relentlessly questioning Lu Tingyan, exasperated. "Do you pester every girl you meet with this many questions?"
Lu Tingyan’s gaze was scorching. As he stared at her, his eyes held a strange longing. "Only you."
"From the first moment I saw you, I felt like you were supposed to belong to me."
His smart device suddenly beeped.
Yelias raised his left arm and answered the call. "Susu?"
Bai Su’s voice sounded a little exasperated. "I lost him. He didn’t believe my Clone and knocked her out."
Yelias: "..."
Bai Su: "Look around for my Clone. If she’s not there... he probably took her."
Yelias quickly put two and two together and turned to look in the direction where the power had vanished.
This forest was filled with his spider silks. Normally, not the slightest trace of movement could escape his notice.
But Lu Tingyan was already so powerful that he completely overwhelmed Yelias’s own abilities. He could control his presence so perfectly that not even Yelias’s spider silk could detect a trace of him.
’Is this the terrifying power of Level 10?’
’As expected, the higher the Level, the greater the gap between them.’
Yelias couldn’t help but start to envy the guy.
He sent out the order for everyone to withdraw.
’No wonder Lu Tingyan escaped on his own before we could even rescue him.’
’Those people must have tried to deceive him, and he figured it out.’
’His power is already this terrifying. It seems our worries were for nothing.’
’Even the people from the Medical Alliance are helpless against him.’
Yelias retracted his spider silks. Suddenly, a single thread stained with blood caught his attention.
Bai Su sent him a message: [This is what my Clone got. Leia’s blood.]
Yelias nodded and carefully stored the sample.
With Leia’s DNA, he could analyze the gene sequence. Whether Susu and she were truly related by blood, and whether their bodies really held the Qin Family’s curse, would soon be revealed.
