Beast World: From Villainess to Cub-Raising Chef novel Chapter 254

Chapter 254: Chapter 252: Ancestor of the Lu Family

Bai Su’s expression was odd. She pointed behind Lu Tingyan. "Lu Tingyan, I think we should worry less about an Illusion Realm and more about this thing right here..."

Warily, Lu Tingyan turned to where she was pointing. A gigantic python was coiled right behind him.

The python’s entire body emitted a fluorescent green glow. It was about two meters in diameter, and the massive patterns on its skin looked like meticulously carved designs.

The python flicked its forked tongue, staring at the two people before it.

Compared to the behemoth of a python, the two of them were as insignificant as grains of sand.

Even the part of the python coiled on the ground seemed like a towering wall to them.

Lu Tingyan recognized the scent. This had to be the creature that had rushed past them in the dark when they first entered the cave, kicking up gusts of wind.

’So, this is reality?’

Lu Tingyan’s guard went up.

The giant python lunged at them.

Despite its immense size, its movements were exceptionally agile.

Lu Tingyan swiftly dodged, holding Bai Su in his arms.

He entered his Beastification State. After reaching Level 10, his true form could grow endlessly at his command.

Inside the cave, a giant python and a massive Snow Wolf faced off. The immense pressure from their released spiritual power was so strong it formed vortices of air on the ground.

He placed Bai Su behind him, a portion of his spiritual power forming a protective shield around her.

The Snow Wolf and the python immediately locked in a vicious struggle.

The python kept extending its body, towering over the Snow Wolf on the ground.

Seizing the opportunity, it plunged downward.

The Snow Wolf dodged nimbly and sank its teeth into the python’s neck.

But the python’s body suddenly twisted with impossible flexibility, tightly coiling around the Snow Wolf.

This was the python’s typical hunting method: coil tightly around its prey until they weakened, then swallow them whole.

The Snow Wolf clamped its jaws on the python’s neck, refusing to let go.

The wolf’s fangs pierced the python’s skin. Blackish-red blood instantly spurted out, splattering the Snow Wolf’s pristine white fur.

Neither side would give an inch.

The tighter the python coiled, the deeper the Snow Wolf’s fangs sank.

The python’s coils were so tight they were crushing the Snow Wolf’s body, deforming it to the point that its ribs and internal organs were displaced.

But the Snow Wolf still refused to release its death grip.

The python’s neck was nearly severed, but the Snow Wolf wasn’t faring much better. Its organs were being crushed, internal bleeding worsening, and it felt as if its very heart would burst from the pressure.

Bai Su watched worriedly. "Lu Tingyan, be careful!"

Lu Tingyan knew he couldn’t go on like this; trying to outlast a snake was a losing game.

He released his spiritual power, forming a protective shield around himself that he continuously expanded, trying to force the python’s coils apart and buy himself some space.

Seeing this, the tip of the python’s tail whipped toward Bai Su, as if it had perceived that she was Lu Tingyan’s greatest weakness.

The enormous tail descended upon Bai Su like a collapsing mountain.

Bai Su froze in terror, watching helplessly as the tail crashed down toward her head.

"Susu!" Lu Tingyan roared. His spiritual power erupted into countless Tearing Space blades that utterly shredded the python.

He landed in front of Bai Su, panting heavily. "Are you okay?"

Bai Su shook her head. "I’m fine. What about you?"

Lu Tingyan sighed in relief, wearily pulling her into his arms and resting his head on her shoulder. "I’m fine, too..."

SHHNK! The sound of a dagger plunging into flesh.

Lu Tingyan stared down at his chest in disbelief. "Susu, you..."

The Bai Su before him offered a polite smile. "I really underestimated you, making Amang suffer so much."

She gripped the dagger, pushing it deeper, clearly intending to kill him.

After several more days and nights of this, the observers behind the array were left speechless.

On the one hand, you couldn’t call the Little Wolf useless. His spiritual power had held out for days within the array, shattering the records of all who had come before him.

On the other hand, how could you not call him useless? The trap and its solution were so obvious, yet he’d been struggling for days and nights, completely blind to it.

In the end, Old Lu couldn’t bear to watch any longer. He dispelled the array and slowly descended, revealing himself.

Lu Tingyan felt the Illusion Realm before him dissipate.

Once again, he saw the four divine statues guarding a humanoid statue in the center.

Bai Su lay before the humanoid statue, her expression serene, completely unharmed.

Lu Tingyan let out a sigh of relief and collapsed to his knees.

A soft light emanated from the white jade on the floor, illuminating the entire cave.

A figure slowly walked up to Lu Tingyan.

"You foolish boy."

the old man said slowly.

Lu Tingyan looked up at him.

The old man explained, "I am the first-generation ancestor of the Lu Family, and one of the first emissaries to serve the Beast God."

"You have seen the trial of this Illusion Realm. Had you passed it, you would have inherited my power."

"But your case is very special."

"I want to know why."

Lu Tingyan’s spiritual power had been tormented to its limit; he was utterly exhausted, body and soul.

He slumped to the ground, too drained to even lift his head. "Why what?"

Old Lu asked, "Why did you keep repeating the trial, again and again, when you had already figured out how to break the array?"
