Betrayed by the Father Reborn in His Rival's Arms novel Chapter 4

Before Madeline could even wipe away her tears, the doorbell rang. Tessa had already arrived.

Madeline opened the door to see Tessa standing there, documents in hand, looking ready to drag Madeline and Lucius straight to city hall to finalize the paperwork if the office wasn't already closed.-

Before Madeline could speak, Tessa asked, "Do you know who I saw on my way here?"

She pulled out her phone and played a video she had just recorded on the street.

It turned out to be a family restaurant, where Lucius, Liliana, and Leo were seated together, enjoying a warm, intimate dinner.

Liliana sat intimately on the same side as Leo.

She chatted with Lucius while playing with her son.

The boy smugly bobbed his little head, clearly devoted to Liliana.

Lucius served them food, his gaze constantly fixed on Liliana sitting across from him, as if she were the only person in his world.

Moments ago, Madeline had still harbored a sliver of hope that perhaps she had misunderstood something. But now, her heart had truly turned to ash.

Taking the divorce papers, she collapsed into Tessa's arms and sobbed.

Once she composed herself a bit, Tessa had to leave to take care of a client consultation, so Madeline sent her off.

It wasn't until past ten at night that Madeline heard the commotion downstairs. Leo was whining reluctantly, "Daddy, can Mommy Lily stay at our house? I'm so happy when I see Mommy Lily."

Madeline heard everything perfectly clear because she had opened the window and was standing right next to it.

The son she had raised for years was calling the woman who ruined her, 'Mommy.'

So the 'Auntie' contact name was just a cover; her real title was Mommy.

Their whole family had enjoyed a satisfying feast, while Madeline herself couldn't even force down a single sip of water or a bite of food.

Madeline didn't catch Lucius's response. She didn't know how much time had passed before a tall figure approached her.

The man's thin lips brushed against her ear, his deep, husky voice laced with seduction.

"Maddy, still mad about yesterday?"
