Betrayed by the Father Reborn in His Rival's Arms novel Chapter 48

Sterling and Silas both stared in shock.

Liliana turned to Lucius with a helpless, delicate expression, and taking his cue, Lucius delivered the killing blow. "Madeline Monroe colluded with black-hat hackers to sabotage Lightning Interactive. She was caught red-handed by our internal security. She's the one responsible for the infamous incident where gruesome, bloody images were injected into the international servers."

Liliana let out a soft, mocking laugh. "Mr. Sinclair, could you really entrust a multi-million-dollar project to someone like that? Or do you think parading around with someone else's patent, desperately pretending it's her own, is the mark of a genius engineer?"

Blindsided by the accusation, Sterling turned to Silas. "Silas, what is going on here? Does your so-called genius lack even basic professional ethics?"

"She would never do something like that! Because—" Silas aggressively started to defend her, ready to declare that Madeline was the sole creator of the game, but the words died in his throat as he realized Lucius had legally stripped Madeline of her patent and transferred it to Liliana.

Since Liliana's name was on the legal documentation, Silas had no proof, and arguing now would only make him look like a gullible professor who had been completely brainwashed by a rogue student.

Madeline stared at Lucius, her chest tightening with an agonizing realization. She couldn't believe the lengths he would go to protect Liliana, publicly framing her for corporate sabotage just to justify ripping away her life's work.

It all made sense now; he had spent weeks demanding she surrender her patents to give Liliana a safety net.

He had finally pulled the trigger. He had given Lightning Interactive to his mistress.

A hollow, tragic laugh escaped Madeline's lips.

She looked at Lucius and asked softly, "Lucius... did you really give my game to Liliana?"

Lucius didn't flinch. "Liliana is telling the truth. She was the one working tirelessly behind the scenes, supporting me so I could finish such a complex system. Returning the patent to her was the right thing to do.
