Lucius had trampled over her again and again simply because she had never forced him to pay the price.
She was done being a victim.
"Don't worry," Silas whispered beside her. "I'll sit down with Sterling later and explain everything."
"There's no need," Madeline replied softly. "I'm sorry, Silas. I ruined the project."
Hearing her use his first name with such raw vulnerability caught Silas off guard, but he quickly offered a reassuring smile. "It's fine. There will be plenty of other opportunities."
He paused, his expression turning serious. "Since Lucius officially transferred Lightning Interactive to Liliana and is actively leveraging his network to steal Sinclair's project for her, it proves he is dead serious about replacing you. Do you want me to introduce you to a ruthless divorce lawyer?"
"No need," Madeline said, her eyes hardening. "We signed a prenup. I'm leaving with absolutely nothing, so there's no point in dragging out a divorce settlement. But... could you find me a top-tier intellectual property attorney? I am not going to let them steal my patents and walk away."
Silas nodded firmly. "Absolutely."
Half an hour later.
Madeline and Silas quietly exited the gala.
When Madeline finally returned to her small apartment.
Her phone began to ring, flashing Lucius's name.
Madeline stared at the screen.
At the gala, he had just publicly destroyed her professional reputation and blacklisted her from the industry to protect his mistress.
He had coddled Liliana and catered to her every emotional need.
What possible reason could he have to call her now?
After letting it ring for a few seconds, she answered calmly. "Hello."
"Come home," Lucius demanded, his tone icy and commanding.
Madeline felt absolutely no obligation to obey him. "If you have something to say, just say it."
