Betrayed by the Father Reborn in His Rival's Arms novel Chapter 8

"I'm full. You guys go ahead."

Saying that, she stood up to leave.

A soft, seductive voice chimed in, "Madeline, did I do something to upset you? Please don't misunderstand. I just got back from overseas and haven't found a place to stay yet, so I had to bother Lucius. If you don't like it, I can leave today..."

"No need," Lucius interjected to comfort her.

"Liliana, don't take it to heart. Just ignore her."

Madeline heard him loud and clear. Lucius meant she shouldn't care about Madeline's anger because her feelings didn't matter at all. To them, Madeline was just an outsider.

They were the real family.

This marriage was over.

Madeline returned to her bedroom.

She saw her suitcase already open. Mrs. Miller, afraid Madeline was too tired, had proactively started unpacking for her. She looked up as Madeline walked in.

Mrs. Miller put down the document folder she was holding. She had clearly seen its contents, her trembling hands tying the string back as she couldn't help but ask.

"Madam, you're divorcing Sir? How can you do that!"

"Why shouldn't I?" Madeline was calmer than she had expected.

"Mrs. Miller, don't you think he and Liliana are the real married couple? ...It makes sense. They were a pair to begin with, childhood sweethearts, the billionaire heir and the wealthy heiress. I was the intruder who barged in, stealing the title of Mrs. Whitman, making it impossible for them to be together openly. But they've been together in secret anyway, and they even had a child together, hahahaha..."

Madeline's smile grew more and more twisted until her face was covered in tears.
