Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 115

As it turned out, Alaric was incredibly popular with women.

Later that evening at the restaurant, several women approached his table asking for his number.

Alaric rejected them all.

Like he was under some kind of spell, he couldn't stop thinking about Ivy.

Seeing him turn down every single offer, his friends joked that he might secretly be into men.

Alaric ignored them.

By the time the night wrapped up, he had thrown back a few too many drinks.

Leo Archer drove him back to The Starlight Estate. As Leo got out to help him inside, Alaric leaned back against the leather seat, eyes closed, and snapped irritably,

"Don't touch me. Go home and get some sleep. We're done here."

Recognizing his boss's foul mood, Leo instantly knew what to do.

He rushed into the mansion to grab backup.

Ivy had just tucked Stella into bed when Mrs. Gable appeared at the door.

"Ma'am, Mr. Foster is back. He had a bit to drink and seems to be having trouble walking. Could you please go out and help him inside?"

Ivy frowned, finding it hard to imagine a man like Alaric actually getting drunk.

But then again, as a massive CEO, networking and heavy drinking were probably part of the job description.

Reminding herself that he was essentially her employer, Ivy didn't hesitate and hurried out to help him.

Leo had tactfully taken a cab and disappeared, leaving Alaric completely alone in the car.

When Ivy walked up, she saw Alaric slumped in the backseat. There was no sign of the driver anywhere.

She cursed his assistant internally—why the hell would he just abandon him in the driveway instead of bringing him inside?

Ivy pulled the rear door open, and a heavy wave of alcohol hit her instantly.

It was obvious he had put away a serious amount of liquor tonight.

Ivy gently shoved his shoulder. "Mr. Foster, are you okay? Can you walk? Let me help you inside."

Alaric opened his eyes, tilting his head to look at the girl in front of him, his gaze narrowing.

"What did you say?"

"Mr. Foster, do you need me to help take off your clothes?"

The man didn't answer. His eyes were closed, but he was weakly tearing at his tie, clearly suffocating in his suit.

Getting the hint, Ivy leaned over to loosen the silk knot for him.

Before she could fully pull it off, she found herself captivated by his striking features and devastatingly handsome lips. Suddenly, a wave of intense heat washed over her. Her throat went dry, and her breathing hitched.

An insane urge to kiss him flared in her mind.

Ivy was horrified with herself.

She couldn't believe she was having such reckless thoughts.

She didn't even like him, and he certainly didn't like her.

How could she possibly crave him like this?

She had totally lost her mind.

Ivy furiously shook the thought away. After yanking the tie off his neck, she started unbuttoning his vest.

Before she could finish, Alaric groggily opened his eyes. Spotting Ivy, he reached out, grabbed her wrist, and smoothly flipped her over, pinning her effortlessly beneath his heavy, broad frame.
