Plus, Alaric had explicitly said she was no longer allowed to care for Stella.
Did that mean there was no point in her staying at The Starlight Estate anymore?
Ivy felt Alaric had already treated her well enough and given her plenty.
Since he didn't need her to look after Stella anymore, she should take the hint and leave.
Ivy didn't know how long it would take for Stella to wake up.
She decided to return to The Starlight Estate first to pack her bags.
She then went to the study and printed out a divorce agreement, stipulating she would leave without a dime.
Back at the hospital.
After Stella woke up, she was completely different.
Her eyes were vacant, her expression blank.
She didn't make a sound.
Alaric leaned in close. "Stella, it's Daddy. Are you hurting anywhere?"
Stella slowly shifted her gaze to her father, blinking, but still refused to speak.
Instead, her small body trembled slightly, as if she were terrified.
Alaric hurriedly looked at Elena. "What's wrong with her?"
Elena quickly replied, "She must just be in shock."
She gently took the child's small hand and coaxed,
"Stella, it's Elena. Do you remember me?"
Stella blinked, her gaze still dull, and mumbled softly, "Mommy."
Elena immediately pulled her into an embrace. "There, there, don't be afraid. You're safe now. We'll protect you."
Stella didn't resist her.
Instead, she slumped against her shoulder, soft and incredibly pitiful.
Elena held her and looked back at Alaric.
"She might have been startled by a cat, or maybe the bottle hitting her head caused a mild concussion, leaving her disoriented. Let's keep her under observation for a few days."
Alaric figured that was the only option.
