Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 204

Ivy looked at Leo.

Introduce her as a secretary?

Right.

They were in a hidden marriage. Mr. Foster had made her sign a contract explicitly forbidding anyone from finding out they were husband and wife.

Bringing her along was a risk, so passing her off as a secretary was the only logical cover.

Ivy gave a bleak smile, forcing a look of relief.

"Okay, let's go up."

"Yeah."

When the two reached the presidential suite, they pushed the door open.

They found a man and a woman helping Alaric settle onto the sofa.

The girl was just reaching out, trying to help Alaric out of his jacket.

Ivy and Leo walked in at that exact moment and caught the scene.

Leo hurried forward to make the introductions. "This is our boss's secretary, Ms. Sawyer."

Gideon and Maisie exchanged a glance, their suspicious gazes landing on Ivy.

Maisie pulled her hands away from Alaric's coat, stood up, and approached Ivy.

"Alaric's secretary?"

She clearly wasn't buying it.

Leo gave a stiff laugh. "That's right, Ms. Miller."

"But she looks so young, like she hasn't even graduated college yet."

Maisie leaned closer to Gideon with a knowing smirk. "Right, old man?"

Gideon nodded in agreement.

Ivy felt incredibly embarrassed.

But she maintained her professional politeness. "Hello, I'm Ivy. I have graduated, actually. My internship just ended."

Maisie circled her, looking her up and down while thoughtfully repeating her name.

"Ivy? That's a pretty name. And you're very pretty yourself."

"It's just... I recall Alaric having a strict rule against bringing secretaries on business trips. I guess pigs really are flying today."

"Ivy..."

Just as Maisie finished speaking, Alaric's lazy, gravelly voice echoed from the sofa.

Ivy hurried over, standing respectfully by his side.
