Ivy was in no mood to admire the surrounding scenery.
She felt absolutely awful—dizzy, nauseous, and completely drained.
She buried her pale face deep into the crook of the man's neck, desperately hoping his soothing presence would alleviate her embarrassment and misery.
Alaric carried her to the shallow waters of the beach, intending to set her down and wash his own shirt.
But Ivy clung to his neck, refusing to let go. Her soft, delicate voice whispered in his ear.
"Can you hold me for just a little longer? Just looking at the ocean makes me dizzy. I feel so sick."
It seemed she wasn't just seasick, but practically terrified of the water.
Every time she opened her eyes, the whole world spun, and the urge to throw up overwhelmed her.
Left with no other choice, Alaric simply stood there, holding her close.
The three people left on the yacht watched them in disbelief.
"So miracles do happen," Maisie teased.
The intimate way Alaric was holding Ivy made it incredibly obvious that they had crossed every physical boundary.
They were clinging to each other as if they were trying to merge into one person, entirely inseparable.
And he clearly wasn't treating the onlookers as outsiders anymore.
"Well, some people missed their chance," Gideon remarked.
Hearing this, Maisie turned to her brother.
"He means you, Mason. Alaric is a perfectly normal, straight man. You can stop pinning your hopes on him."
Mason's expression darkened instantly. "What kind of bullshit is that? I don't have feelings for him."
The only person he had ever loved was already dead.
He would never give his heart to anyone else for the rest of his life.
"Tsk, tsk," Gideon sighed, taking Maisie's hand.
"Let's go take a look over there."
"Sure," Maisie smiled, walking away with him.
Mason glared at their intertwined fingers and yelled angrily, "What are you two doing? Let go of each other."
Startled, the two instinctively dropped their hands and, acting as if nothing had happened, leaped into the ocean for a swim.
Mason shifted his gaze back to Alaric holding Ivy in the distance. His fists clenched involuntarily, a freezing glint flashing in his eyes.
