Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 234

"To stop myself from touching her, I tied myself to the bedposts with my tie."

"Do you have any idea what I went through that night?"

"Why did you leave? Why did you abandon me?"

"Is it true that you only care about the money? Do you really give so little of a damn about me that you'd just watch me sleep with another woman?"

Ivy was shocked by his raw, unhinged shouting.

Even the polished, untouchable CEO could feel deeply hurt when misunderstood.

Seeing the severe rope burn on his wrists, her heart ached for him.

She turned around, intending to fetch the first aid kit to clean his wounds.

It had been three days, and the angry, swollen welts were still viciously red. He must have been in sheer agony.

Seeing her turn away, Alaric immediately reached out and grabbed her hand.

"Where are you going? Are you walking out on me again?"

He pulled her against his chest, his voice dropping to a rough rasp.

"You are my wife. I provide everything for you. Would it kill you to actually take care of me for once?"

Ivy stood rigidly against him, enveloped in his embrace.

The bitter pain in her chest melted into a soft ripple of warmth, like a pebble skipping across a calm lake.

She gently placed a hand on his head, running her fingers through his hair to soothe him.

"I'm just getting some ointment to bandage your wrists," she whispered.

Alaric finally loosened his grip. "Really?"

Ivy nodded.

Alaric was heavily intoxicated, his eyelids drooping shut.

He waved a dismissive hand. "Go."

Then, he completely collapsed onto the mattress.

Watching him, Ivy felt a mix of sympathy and amusement.

She really had completely misjudged the situation.

Elena had some serious nerve, daring to drug Mr. Foster in The Starlight Estate. It was practically a death wish.

And obviously, she had failed.

Recalling Alaric's rant about almost being assaulted, it meant he had successfully fought her off.
