Buying My Forever Wife novel Chapter 62

Being a mother suited her perfectly.

Because now, there was no way Patrick would ever want her back.

A woman who had married some wealthy old geezer to be a stepmother.

Patrick would probably be disgusted.

Knowing that Ivy could no longer compete with her for Patrick, Summer's confidence skyrocketed.

Ivy couldn't be bothered to argue with someone like this on the street.

She didn't want to draw a crowd and cause any trouble for Mr. Foster.

Holding Stella tightly, she tried to step around the woman.

Summer grabbed her arm. "Not so fast. I need to talk to you."

Ivy stopped in her tracks, her face turning ice-cold.

"Move."

Her tone was sharp, giving off an aura that promised physical violence if pushed.

Summer refused to budge, terrified that Ivy wouldn't accept her apology.

If she couldn't get back to coasting at Metropolitan General, she wouldn't be able to secure Patrick a job at Foster Group, and he would definitely break up with her.

Knowing how much Ivy loved money, Summer pulled out her phone and held it up.

"Give me your payment QR code. I'll transfer you some money as an apology. I was wrong for what happened at The Wonderdome... I shouldn't have hit your... daughter."

Seeing that the woman was genuinely prepared to pay, Ivy hesitated.

She loved money, and she desperately needed it.

Her two younger sisters still had years of schooling ahead of them.

Her father was lying in a hospital bed after a terrible accident.

Even though she wanted to wash her hands of him, he was still the man who raised her.

She couldn't just leave him to die.

"Go ahead and tell me how much you want. I'll transfer it right now."

When Ivy stayed silent, Summer started to grow anxious.

Ivy lowered her gaze to the little girl in her arms and asked gently:

"Stella, do you accept her apology?"

Stella immediately shook her head. "No, I don't! When she hit me that day, my face hurt so much."

Even though the money was tempting, seeing that the child wasn't ready to forgive, Ivy firmly refused.

"My daughter doesn't accept your apology. You can leave now."

"Wait!"

"That depends entirely on how sincere you are."

She didn't dare state a specific number.

If Mr. Foster found out, he would definitely scold her for extorting people.

But if someone offered it voluntarily, he couldn't blame her.

If worst came to worst, they could just get divorced and she would walk away.

Shooting daggers at Ivy, Summer keyed in the $50,000 compensation and sneered a warning:

"You have your money. Now stay the hell away from Patrick. And if anyone asks if I apologized and if you forgave me, you'd better tell them the exact truth. Got it?"

Ivy nodded.

When the notification for fifty thousand dollars popped up on her screen, her eyes nearly popped out of her head.

No way.

That was a massive amount.

Rich people really lived in a different world.

She had dropped fifty thousand dollars without even blinking.

Ivy quickly put her phone away and carried Stella into the waiting car.
