Isolde pulled her gaze away indifferently. "Let's go. Mr. Wallace is waiting."
"Right." Zoey hurried to keep up. "Isolde, are you sure you don't want to rethink it? Father Hemlock said it only requires three hours a week. It's a rare opportunity. The bishop is selecting followers personally. Getting chosen would be the ultimate honor. I fought so hard just to secure my spot."
Isolde shook her head. "I'll pass. There's too much going on at home right now, and I just don't have the energy."
Zoey looked a little disappointed. "Alright."
As they walked past the administration office, the dean happened to step out, leading a strikingly handsome boy. Isolde and Zoey quickly greeted the teacher.
Top students always received better treatment. Recognizing Isolde as the highest-ranked freshman, the dean gave an approving nod.
Zoey studied the boy curiously. "Who is that? He's really cute."
Isolde suddenly remembered hearing the teachers rave about someone when she dropped off her homework yesterday. Could it be him?

"This is the Talent & Virtue Building. The one across the way is the Elite Talent Building," the dean said, pointing between the two structures. "It's a strict dividing line. Remember, if you want to graduate without a hitch, you absolutely cannot cross that boundary."
The architectural styles were wildly different. One was lavish and opulent, while the other was bright and austere.
Stellan gave a faint smile and followed the dean into the Talent & Virtue Building.
It was still recess, and the hallways were packed with lingering students. Stellan's arrival immediately drew a lot of stares. This wasn't just any school. Parachuting into this program a month into the semester meant he was an absolute prodigy that top universities were likely already fighting over.
The dean led Stellan to the sophomore class and was just about to hand him over to the teacher when someone started shouting outside.
"Emergency! The elites from Class 1-3 are brawling again!"
"Bianca Whitmore. The one she's beating up is the other Whitmore daughter, Julianne."
Stellan's eyes glinted as he turned back to the spectacle.
The dean pleaded with Bianca, but she was completely tuning him out.
Julianne was utterly unhinged, hurling furious insults despite others trying to hold her back.
The Talent & Virtue Building was too far away, and the crowd was too loud for anyone to hear exactly what Julianne was screaming.
But the expressions of the elite students instantly dropped. Even the dean turned completely pale.
