Divorce Countdown (Amelia and Julian) novel Chapter 22

Divorce Count Down Chapter 22

After seeing Elizabeth at the café, Amelia felt as if she had been transported to another world.

After a month apart, Elizabeth seemed more haggard, her energy and complexion much worse than before.

Amelia was a little surprised by her change, but she still greeted her politely.

After ordering, the two, who were never very close, found themselves at a loss for words.

In the end, it was Elizabeth who broke the heavy silence first.

“Lia, the reason I asked you out today is actually to apologize to you. I’m sorry.”

Seeing her sincere apology, a trace of surprise flashed across Amelia’s face, and she hurriedly waved her hand.

“Nothing really happened between us, you don’t need to apologize.”

Hearing Amelia’s generosity and lack of resentment, the guilt in Elizabeth’s eyes grew even deeper.

“That day, I didn’t know you and Jules were married. I said a lot of nonsense and hurt you. I’m sorry.”

So it was just about this small matter.

A slight ripple stirred in Amelia’s heart, and her gaze toward Elizabeth softened with a touch of affection.

“I was the one who kept it from you first. You were just speaking your mind, I won’t take it to heart. Besides, I had already decided to get a divorce at that time. Your words actually made me more determined. In fact, I should thank you-otherwise, I might not have been able to move on so quickly.”

Elizabeth knew these words were meant to comfort her, but she still couldn’t get over the hurdle in her heart, and tears shimmered in her eyes.
