Divorce Me I'm Done Serving You (Ayla and Troy) novel Chapter 936

Yet Ayla had held onto that divorce agreement and continued loving him for three whole years.

Their child was gone. And while she was suffering alone, he had been with another woman. In the end, he was the one who drove her away.

At that moment, Troy wanted nothing more than to slap himself.

Seeing him silently staring at the document, Ayla slowly stood up and gripped the handle of her suitcase. "Let's meet at the courthouse in a month. Once the waiting period is over, we can finalize the divorce."

With that, she turned and walked away.

Ayla knew Troy had probably wanted a divorce for a long time. But even after making the decision herself, taking that final step still hurt.

Forgetting someone took time. She planned to spend the next month letting go of the past completely and learning to move forward.

But before she had taken more than a few steps, a hand suddenly covered her hand on the suitcase handle.

She turned around in confusion. "What now? Are you going to humiliate me again?"

At such close range, she could smell the perfume lingering on him. It made her want to throw up.

Troy looked at her quietly. It had been so long since he'd seen the Ayla who was still his wife. Even hearing her speak felt strangely precious, even though her heart had already begun to grow cold toward him.

Still... it wasn't too late. As long as there was still a chance, he would never let her leave.

"It's late," Troy said softly. "You just had surgery. If you want to leave, do it tomorrow."

Her heart sank even further. "No need."

Suddenly, Troy called out, "Laura."

The housekeeper immediately appeared. She knew the couple often talked about divorce and had long since stopped taking it seriously. Truthfully, she had never thought much of Ayla either.

Troy asked, "Is there any chicken soup left in the kitchen?"

Laura went to check before returning. "There is. Mrs. Winston made it for you."

Before Ayla could react, Troy wrapped an arm around her waist. Holding her again felt unreal. This woman had always been his wife. In his previous life, he had lost the right to hold her. Now, fate had given him another chance.

Troy had always liked her cool, distant beauty. The difference was that he had never admitted it to himself. Now he wanted to look at her properly.

Lowering his voice, he asked, "Why did you make chicken soup for me?"
