Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1046

Through some twisted stroke of fate, Sebastian's eyes immediately locked onto Bella in the sea of hundreds of faces.

He saw the microphone gripped tightly in her hand. He saw the way she stared directly at his hidden spot on the balcony. Her eyes were burning with pure, unadulterated malice.

Panic spiked in his chest. A microphone in Bella's hand was a live grenade.

She had absolutely zero connection to this prestigious event.

She wasn't a donor, she hadn't contributed to the university, and she certainly wasn't an alumna.

She had zero right to even be in the building.

He had no idea how she had snuck in, but he knew exactly what she was about to do.

He couldn't let her speak.

Sebastian spun around to the Vice Chancellor. "Can we end the session right now? Cut the microphone. Immediately."

Julian blinked in surprise. "Mr. Blake? What's going on?"

Sebastian's voice was tight with barely suppressed panic. "Julian, I think the speech has gone on long enough. Let's wrap it up.

If we push it, the energy might shift.

Please, end the session and kill the audio feed now."

Without waiting for a response, Sebastian bolted for the stairs.

He had to act fast. He needed to either drag Lillian off the stage or drag Bella out of the building.

Whatever it took, he couldn't let Bella detonate her bomb.

Julian didn't know the exact details, but he could read the sheer terror radiating from Sebastian.

She tapped it frantically. Nothing. She had clawed her way to get this mic, and the damn thing was muted?

A white-hot wave of rage crashed over Bella, the blood roaring in her ears until she felt like she might pass out.

She glared at Lillian, who was looking down at her with a calm, almost mocking expression. Without the mic, her screaming would be drowned out by the massive crowd.

Driven completely psycho by her blinding jealousy, Bella lost her mind. She cocked her arm back and hurled the heavy, metal microphone directly at Lillian's head with all her strength.

The crowd gasped in horror as the heavy object sailed through the air.

Just as the metal projectile was about to smash into Lillian's forehead, a tall figure exploded out of nowhere, throwing himself directly in front of her.

A sickening thud echoed through the silent auditorium as the heavy microphone slammed brutally into Sebastian's back.

Lillian flinched in surprise, but the absolute second she realized it was Sebastian shielding her, she forcefully shoved him away.
