Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1150

Lillian let out a breath of relief after stepping out of the room. Her mother was fine and hadn't suffered any adverse stress reactions from the commotion.

Still, the incident left her on edge. She resolved that no matter how relentlessly Sebastian tried to force his way into their lives with Noah, she would never allow them inside Halfridge Villas again.

If today's circus repeated itself, she wouldn't be able to handle the strain.

Her mother's fragile mental state couldn't withstand repeated shocks. It was better to be safe than sorry.

"How is she? Is she alright?"

Leonard was waiting right outside the door. Seeing the visible relief on Lillian's face, he had already guessed the answer.

"She's fine. Her condition is stable. But I'm not risking letting Noah in here again. After today's drama, I highly doubt he'll want to come back anyway."

The boy was young, but he had a massive ego.

Lillian knew his personality all too well. She was certain Noah hated her more than ever now.

He would probably jump at the first chance to contact Bella. After all, he had always wanted Bella to be his mother.

Leonard, however, viewed the situation differently.

"I wouldn't be so sure. Noah just got back to the country. He has no idea what the real situation is here yet. Give it a couple of days. Once he finds out everything that's happened recently, he might change his tune. You're an incredible woman, Lillian. I think he'll end up liking you."

Leonard had noticed the striking similarities. Noah was unmistakably Sebastian's biological son; their personalities mirrored each other in a myriad of ways.

They were remarkably alike.

Hadn't Sebastian once believed Lillian wasn't worth his love?

If she had stayed home today, she probably would have spent the entire day consumed by emotional exhaustion.

It was much better to go to Lillionix. Once she buried herself in work, she would forget everything else. This trivial annoyance wouldn't even register on her radar.

Without a second thought, she gladly agreed.

After freshening up and reviewing the minutes Leonard had compiled, she and Ethan Hayes set off for the company.

When she arrived, Celia Bennett was still there.

"Ms. Mercer, I thought you were taking the day off. You left right after the first meeting. Do you want me to brief you on the discussions we had afterward?"

"No need," Lillian replied. "Leonard already sent me the notes. The options we've shortlisted look promising. Let's schedule some time to visit the factories in person before we finalize any partnerships.
