Sabrina Ward was beside herself. "Why is all this happening to my daughter? God, is this fair? It took everything for us to get to where we are today. Bella, don't lose hope. We can solve this. Tell me, when did Debbie Harris fall into the hands of the casino? Why didn't you tell me?"
Bella Ward sighed in frustration. "The Grand Sapphire Casino had been looking for her relentlessly. She owed them a $1 billion debt. It's how they make their living, so how could she possibly escape? It was only natural for them to collect. I don't know how they tracked me, but they found Debbie and snatched her right up. It happened a few days ago. I was alone; I couldn't exactly fight off a bunch of casino enforcers. Plus, I have The Blood-Debt Vultures breathing down my neck. So, there was no way I could get Debbie back."
Sabrina followed Bella's logic. "So, that video was made by the casino thugs to extort the Blake family?"
Bella turned, sat on the sofa, and hugged a throw pillow, her voice laced with impatience. "How should I know? I haven't even laid eyes on Debbie since."
Sabrina automatically assumed her daughter was incapable of such a gruesome act. It had to be those ruthless casino thugs.
"Alright, alright, Mom was wrong to doubt you. But why didn't you tell me something so massive? Whatever. I originally wanted to keep Debbie around to give you an edge in the divorce. But I've seen the truth. Sebastian Blake doesn't care about his biological mother at all. Her words carry zero weight with him. If the casino took her, so be it. Keeping her was just a ticking time bomb anyway. Better she's gone before she blew up in our faces. As for the loan sharks, is it that urgent? Didn't you sell your house and car to cover the interest?"
