He Gave Me Hearing, Then Taught Me What Silence Really Means novel Chapter 187

Nelson didn't waste a single breath on words. He grabbed a heavy chair from the floor and smashed it ruthlessly across Corbin's back.

Corbin coughed up blood on impact, collapsing to the floor, completely incapable of getting up.

Nelson lifted his heavy boot and kicked him repeatedly in the head. Again and again.

Corbin didn't even have a chance to beg for mercy. His vision violently blurred into total darkness.

Quinn Fletcher rushed in from the hallway and quickly intercepted him. "Boss, let me handle the rest. You can't keep doing this."

Nelson's face was completely devoid of emotion, staring at Corbin as if looking at a corpse.

The floor was slick with the blood Corbin had hacked up.

"Boss, I'll clean this up. I promise."

Strangely, Nelson's raging pulse began to slow. He was entirely calm, but his face was ashen. A sharp, piercing pain ripped through his chest like a needle.

Lydia finally arrived, panting heavily. Seeing Corbin lying in a massive pool of his own blood, she stumbled backward in horror. She forced herself to stand tall, her fists clenched so tightly her palms grew slick with sweat.

Nelson turned and issued a freezing command to Quinn. "Make sure he never stands again."

"Understood."

Nelson walked out, heading straight to check on Josie.

Josie was being kept in a building not far away, heavily guarded by several security personnel. A bright red slap mark marred her delicate cheek, making her look incredibly pitiful.

She had been sitting in the corner sobbing continuously, her eyes puffy and red. The moment Nelson walked in, she threw herself into his arms.

"Daddy!"

Nelson wrapped his arms around the little girl, gently stroking her back. He shot a sharp look at the bodyguard. "Did you find out who took her?"
