Just as she finished paying, a somewhat familiar female voice rang out.

Stella turned her head and saw Jarrod's younger cousin, Serena Fuller.

And standing not far behind her was a fashionably dressed Chloe.

Serena had always looked down on her and had never given her a shred of respect. Stella hadn't expected her to be so close with Chloe.

It seemed Chloe truly was the woman Jarrod loved, and the Fuller family had already fully embraced her.

Stella didn't want to get tangled up with them. She was about to slip quietly out of the way, but Serena had already spotted her.

"Oh, isn't this the little pawn my family bought for an arranged marriage?"

Serena strutted over on her high heels. "What, using my family's money to live it up at the mall?"

Serena's words were sharp, but not entirely wrong.

Over two years ago, the Quinn family business desperately needed capital, and Jarrod's grandfather had been in a rush to find a wife for Jarrod before he went abroad to expand the business.

The two families struck a deal, and the marriage was locked in.

Strictly speaking, the Fullers had indeed paid for her.

Unbothered, Stella looked at Serena and the approaching Chloe, offering a mild greeting. "Serena. Chloe. What a coincidence."

Chloe looked slightly surprised but didn't say anything, merely giving a haughty nod.

Serena, however, couldn't stand Stella's calm demeanor!

She was an unloved child neglected by her own father, replaced by a stepmother and a favored younger sister, yet she always walked around looking so composed and aloof, pretending she was some highly cultured heiress!

"What coincidence! My brother specifically asked me to keep Chloe company shopping today! And you? I bet you snooped around, found out my brother might be here, and showed up to make your presence known!"

Serena's gaze swept over the shopping bag in Stella's hand. "Hah, buying a gift for my brother? Do you really think pathetic little tricks like this will secure your spot as Mrs. Fuller?"

Serena intentionally raised her voice, drawing the attention of several staff members in the store.

Chloe also threw a glance at Stella's shopping bag, a faint look of disdain flashing in her eyes.
