Candy POV
My father has been laid to rest. My brother is nowhere to be found. All he did was call me from a diner phone and say he is moving on. He wants nothing and is tired of all the twisted games. He wants nothing to do with getting revenge on Sinclair. He has basically abandoned me.
All I have left is Ronan. If he leaves, I really will have no one. Julian, true to his word, paid for the funeral. He came to pay his respects as well, but I know that he had a hand in my father’s death. That’s why he looked the way he did.
Ronan is holding my hand. “Are you okay?”
I snapped back to reality. “Yes. I’m fine. I am just thinking about my father, Ronan. I know Julian had a hand in his death. Why was he in the pack hospital before that heart attack? I want to know the real reason.”
Ronan sighed. “Julian isn’t the kind to show mercy, Candy. He told me something I want to talk to you about. I didn’t tell you at first because you were dealing with the funeral for your father. Now, we need to talk.”
I looked at his face, and there was a seriousness there. Whatever he wanted to tell me was going to sour my mood further.
I sighed. “What happened?”
“Julian was hacked by ‘Condor’ again. Sinclair and her colleague were going to someplace called ‘The Company’ to retrieve equipment needed to fix the problem. On the way back, though, there was a terrible accident, and he said that Sinclair and her colleague both died.”
Anger rose inside of me. “Sinclair is dead? No! That can’t be. I wanted my revenge on her. I wanted to watch her suffer. Now she is gone?!” I yelled.
This entire week has been nothing but a shit show, and now I can’t even direct my anger at the one person I wanted to destroy. I wanted her ruined. I wanted her reduced to nothing but shame and anguish. She’s gone now.
“Yes. Apparently, Julian is heartbroken over it. He told me he had intended to make her the Luna of his pack. She apparently accepted before the accident. Then she died.”
“He was going to make her his Luna!? He knew we wanted her. He knew that once the contract was over, we were going to take her. He was going to betray us for that bitch?! What the hell was so special about her?!” I screamed.
Ronan pulled me to him and started holding me forcefully. Ugly tears were rolling hot down my face, and all the pent-up sadness, grief, anger, and resentment all stumbled out of me at one time.
“Ronan,” I said, pushing back. “I want Julian’s head.”
He looked at me in disbelief. “Are you serious? Do you even know what you are saying?”
“Yes, I know what I am saying! He betrayed us for HER! He was never going to keep his end of the bargain.”
“Candy, Julian is powerful.”
“Was powerful. Didn’t you say that ‘Condor’ hacked into his servers again? He is probably barely holding on financially. His pack is either going to abandon ship or turn on him when the lights get shut off, or there is no food. He is a ruined alpha in waiting. That’s when we strike. I have no mercy for traitors!”
Ronan’s eyes gleamed at what I just said. He must not have thought of it because he was paying attention to me. He rose, and I rose with him.
“You’re right. We will make him pay. For now, we play along. Once he is desolate, then we strike."
I smiled wickedly and pulled Ronan towards me by his waistband. “We act like we are going to help him, and then we attack.”

So many missing chapters and repetitions. A different story altogether from chapter 101...
