His plump mate (Rebel and Austin) by Buchanan novel Chapter 602

Adrian POV

We finally get to the town, and I ask where the town hospital is from one of the locals. Once we got the address, we went straight there. As soon as we entered, I saw the state of the hospital. It’s small and doesn't have the best equipment.

My heart started beating fast. Please let her be okay I asked in a silent prayer as I approached the front desk.

“Kendra Smith.”

“Are you family?”

“Yes. I’m her husband. She’s pregnant with our twins,” I replied.

“She’s on the second floor. Room 222,” she said.

“Thank you,” I said as I ran to the second floor. Aiden was trailing behind me. When I got there, I knocked gently on the door before opening it.

When I did, I saw Sinclair lying on the bed asleep. Another man is in the room. I want to growl at him, but he could be the feeler that Kaia sent.

He saw me and stood up. “Alpha Aiden and Beta Adrian,” he said with an extended hand. “I’m Gene. Kaia sent me to this location to see if I could find Sinclair in Haskville.”

I shook his hand. “Thank you for helping her. How is she? How are our pups?”

He nodded and then looked at her curiously. “She’s an interesting person. She has a knack for pissing off hunters. She lost a lot of blood, but it turns out we are the same blood type, so I donated blood to her. The pups are fine from what the doctor said.”

I looked at her. Relief is rushing through me. I smiled. “She’s one of a kind. I’m glad she and our pups are alright. Thank you for giving blood. I am in debt to you.”

“Don’t mention it. That hunter was about to shoot her in the chest. He shot her in the right shoulder. She was still ready to fight. The gun was hers. She shot him and then fought the woman who was with him.”

My eyes widened in surprise. But Gene kept talking. “I’ve never seen an omega fight a hunter and live to talk about it.”

Aiden interrupted, “Would you believe that is the second time she fought that bastard?”

Gene’s eyes widened. “Then she is special indeed. I don’t think I’m needed here any longer. Is that correct?”

“Yeah. Thank you again,” I said.

As Gene walked out, I rushed to Sinclair’s side. I grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it. “You silly woman. You are in so much trouble when you get better.”

Aiden quietly said he was going to step out to call Kaia and everyone else. I nodded, but I didn’t take my eyes off Sinclair. She looked pale.

Thor is relieved to see Sinclair and Mali. My heart is starting to settle. Not completely, but seeing her in front of me, it’s a huge relief.

Well, she confirmed that she heard the most damning and completely misunderstood part of that conversation. I sighed. “Sinclair, I have been terrified and losing my mind trying to find you for the last five weeks. Do you think I would be here right now if I didn’t love you?”

Her eyes lit up just a little, but then dimmed again. She doesn’t believe me. I gently grabbed her face. “I was trying to understand the possessive feeling and need to protect you every time we were together in bed. I didn’t give Aiden specifics about us, but I brought it up and told him it was different from Amber. That’s how that conversation started. When he said I was in love with you and was explaining that’s why I was feeling possessive and protective over you, I was trying to understand it myself, because I didn’t experience that with Amber. When you left, though, and you tried to break the mate bond…Sinclair, I would move heaven and hell so I never feel that way again. I’m in love with you, little mate. I swear on the Moon Goddess, I am a complete and utter idiot for you.”

Her eyes watered, and she struggled to sit up. I helped her, and as soon as she was upright, she wrapped her arms around me. I felt her pain in the mate bond from her injury. I gently wrapped my arms around her and kissed her temple.

When I released her, I looked her in the eyes. “Don’t run again. Please. Next time you hear something, or feel insecure about something, talk to me. Hell, scream and hit me, but don’t run. Ronan almost took you from me. He almost took our pups from me. He dies, but you can’t, Sinclair.”

She is crying. “I feel foolish. I’m sorry. You’re right. I should have come to you. I was afraid of being abandoned again. I figured, if I ran this time, then I would be able to deal with the abandonment better.”

“Promise me, no more running. We talk about these things, okay?”

She sniffled and nodded. I wrapped my arms around her, and then the dam broke. She started crying and whispered, “I don’t know how they found me.”

“We will go back to your place once you are healed and see if we can find any clues.”

She nodded and started inhaling my scent. My chest finally loosened. I kissed the top of her head. “How have you been feeling with the pregnancy?”

She pulled back. “I need to be honest with you. I was going to keep them, but I thought you didn’t really want me. I wasn’t sure I was going to tell you about them.”
