Nora Newman shut her eyes tight. She couldn't leave with Xander Harrison just yet.

She still needed to use Finnegan Fletcher's identity. She just had to endure one last week, and then she would finally be free.

Turning back to Xander, she forced down her reluctance. "No need, Mr. Harrison. I'll ride back with Frederick."

Xander froze, clearly caught off guard by her rejection.

Unable to bear the look in his eyes, Nora turned away and walked straight toward Finnegan.

Finnegan shot Xander a triumphant smirk. His predatory gaze seemed to say, *See? Nora could only ever choose me. You have no chance.*

Nora climbed into the car without giving Finnegan the satisfaction of mocking Xander aloud. She already felt guilty enough for letting Xander down; giving Finnegan an opening to humiliate him would only make it worse.

As soon as she settled in, she noticed Seraphina Shaw sitting in the passenger seat. Seraphina looked just as surprised. "Nora? Why are you in here?"

Before Nora could answer, Finnegan slid into the driver's seat. "I told her to get in," he said coldly.

Silenced by his sharp tone, Seraphina shot him a resentful glare before turning forward, completely ignoring Nora.

Just then, Nora's phone rang. It was Felix Ford.

"Nora, are you back yet?"

"I'm back, Felix. What's wrong?"

Felix's voice was laced with urgency. "Get to the hospital as soon as you can. Professor Vance..."
