Amos had seen exactly what kind of man Evan was back in Harbor City.
As far as he was concerned, no one could stop Evan once he became this determined.
Aaron’s eyes narrowed.
“Then don’t bother calling Amos. Send our people over directly.”
Gray looked at him.
“You mean…”
“Make sure Evan has no time to go looking for Felix.”
Felix was already grieving enough.
Whenever Aaron remembered how Felix had abandoned everything because of Stella that day, a dull ache still settled in his chest.
Letting Felix take Stella away had perhaps been the last bit of peace they could give her.
Aaron would not allow anyone to disturb that peace again.
The peace Stella had wanted all along.
No one was going to take it from her now.
“And have Stella’s death formally registered in Harbor City.”
Gray paused.
“Before you do that, make sure Evan signs the divorce papers.”
Stella might be dead, but Aaron knew that right up until the end, she had wanted to free herself from Evan.
He wanted those divorce papers signed before her death was formally registered. He refused to let Evan keep claiming Stella as his wife simply because she had died before she could finish leaving him.
“He probably won’t sign,” Gray said.
“Then bring every member of the Wright family to me.”
Aaron’s voice turned vicious.
The Wright family.
Only yesterday had Aaron finally learned why Stella had gone after them so ruthlessly in Harbor City.
It had been because of her mother.
And Aaron was nowhere near as forgiving as Stella had been.
What Stella had done to the Wright family back then suddenly seemed far too merciful.
Now Aaron wanted to tear everything apart.
What right did Evan have to disturb the final peace Stella had fought so hard to find?
“Understood,” Gray said.
The order to bring in the entire Wright family hardly surprised him.
