Hearing her daughter out, Maria let out a scoff, "At this point, you're still chasing his love?"
Shock flashed in Sabrina's eyes, "Mom, shouldn't I expect that?"
Maria stood up from her chair and sat right beside Sabrina, "Silly girl, didn't you know this from day one? Marrying Vincent means living the same life Scarlett used to live."
Sabrina pouted bitterly, "What's the point of that then? I'd rather go back to how things were—at least he cared about me back then, but now he barely sees me."
Brushing stray hair away from Sabrina's cheek, Maria spoke softly, "If you stayed his mistress, you'd never have a legit title."
Resentment burned in Sabrina's voice, "If I end up like Scarlett, won't another woman take my spot beside Vincent?"
Maria replied nonchalantly, "Of course someone will."
A sudden wave of hesitation hit Sabrina, "If that's the case, Mom, I don't wanna marry him anymore."
Maria urged her gently, "We've come way too far. If you back out now, ever getting back to him or enjoying this kind of royal treatment again will be a complete pipe dream."
Sabrina choked up, "I..."
Maria pressed on, "Isn't this what you wanted all along?"
Frustration bubbled up in Sabrina's chest, "Yeah, I wanted his last name and the Stewart Group's power, but I wanted a man who'd spoil me rotten even more! I chose Vincent because he treated me like royalty and had the wealth to back it up, but now everything's falling apart!"
Frowning slightly, Maria asked patiently, "So tell me straight—do you wanna tie the knot or not?"
Sabrina weighed her options deeply.
Complex feelings tangled inside her head.
She genuinely liked Vincent, and his status was unmatched.
Yet marrying him meant losing devoted suitors like Luke and Daniel.
She'd also have to give up going after top-tier catches like Nolan and Damian.
Still, turning down Vincent would haunt her forever.
