Did she already know about their setup? Was she actually trying to bait Lewis into cementing her identity as a murderer?
No, that was impossible!
There was no way Lewis had flipped.
Besides, Lewis was locked down at the Kyler Hotel, guarded by over a dozen men. Phoenix couldn't possibly get near him.
It was a bluff. It had to be a bluff!
"Phoebe, what do we do now? Phoenix is absolutely terrifying!" Cassandra panicked, her voice trembling. "Should we just back off?"
"Shut up! Do you seriously think we can just walk away now?" Phoebe snapped coldly. "The only way out is through."
"If Phoenix actually had a way to ruin tomorrow's livestream, she wouldn't have posted that video. She's laying groundwork, trying to psych us out into believing she knows everything."
"We cannot panic." Phoebe took a deep breath, speaking just as much to herself as to the two trembling girls.
That's right!
Phoenix was arrogant.
She only recorded that message to intimidate them.
"Both of you, go home and stay put! Do not go anywhere. Once tomorrow is over, this will all be finished."
After dismissing them, Phoebe immediately drove to the Kyler Hotel.
When she walked in and saw Lewis sitting quietly in his room, she let out a heavy sigh of relief.
"Lewis." Phoebe plastered on a gentle, sympathetic smile as she approached him. "You've been through so much."
"Ms. Prescott, what brings you here?" Lewis looked up, offering a faint smile. "Honestly, I understand."
"You told me Phoenix wields massive influence in Cloudhaven. You're keeping me confined to this room for my own safety. I get it."
"I'm so glad you understand." Phoebe sighed, her voice dripping with fake sorrow. "My sister has completely lost her mind. She will do anything for power."
"Tomorrow, all you have to do is tell the world the exact truth of what happened back then. Once the public outrage peaks, they'll be forced to launch a judicial review and reopen the case."
"Once that monster is locked away for good, you and your sister will finally be safe."
Lewis nodded slowly. "But... is what you said really true? Is my sister actually alive?"
"Yes!" Phoebe nodded, looking him dead in the eye with absolute certainty. "At the time, the doctors did declare Quinn dead after resuscitation failed."
"But later, our people discovered it was a misdiagnosis. She was in a vegetative state. To make up for what happened, we secretly transferred Quinn to a private facility to ensure she received the best care possible."
