with uncertainty but softened by his apology. “I’m not saying I don’t want to be with you, James,” she said

quietly. “But I need time. Time to transition my role here, to make sure things are handled properly before I

move. And I need to know that you’ll understand that this is going to take some compromise. It can’t just
