Shredded Vows: The Billionaire’s Secret Heir novel Chapter 31

The next morning.

As the black Bentley pulled up to the corporate lobby, Gideon stepped out and immediately noticed the reporters who had been up since dawn, cameras flashing relentlessly despite the security line. "They certainly are persistent."

"Good morning, Mr. Gray," a suited bodyguard greeted him, offering a helpless update. "There are even more reporters today. They're saying hard work pays off, and they won't leave without an interview."

Gideon casually adjusted his collar, his gaze narrowing. "Then let's see if their hard work actually pays off." With that, he strode into the building.

His dark, unfathomable eyes carried a constant, suffocating weight of authority, effortlessly projecting his cold, commanding presence.

"Good morning, Mr. Gray."

"Good morning, sir."

"Morning, Boss."

As he crossed the grand lobby, employees greeted him with different titles but the exact same tone of absolute reverence.

The sharp click of his custom leather shoes echoed against the marble floor as Gideon offered curt nods in return.

Taking the private elevator up, he had barely stepped into his office when Serena followed right behind him, carrying a food container.

"Good morning, Gideon!"

Dave hadn't even been able to stop her outside. Not wanting to get caught in the crossfire, the assistant simply hid by the door, sweating bullets for the Sterling heiress.

Gideon stopped and turned, his brows knitting together. "Why are you up here again? Didn't I tell you that you are not allowed on this floor?"

"Oh, don't be mad!" Utterly oblivious to the room's dropping temperature, Serena opened the container and walked toward him. "I woke up at five this morning to make these dumplings from scratch! They definitely taste better than yesterday's. Try one? If you like them, I'll make them for you every single day!"

"Get out," Gideon replied coldly.

The young woman froze, staring at him in shock. "What's wrong with you? Didn't you say they were delicious yesterday? I woke up at four in the morning for this. Are you out of your mind?"

"I said get out. Do you need me to spell it out for you?" He stared at her, his voice so icy it seemed to pierce straight to the bone.

Meeting his predatory gaze, Serena felt the air around her thin out. Her body stiffened, and she instinctively held her breath.
