The Alpha King's Mind Reading Maid (Cecilia) novel Chapter 109

Chapter 109

“She is our friend, and we are going to be supportive no matter what she looks like,” Claira said, scolding them both. Her tone was more motherly than anything, and it made me chuckle as I opened the door.

“Well, thanks, Claira. That’s so kind of you.”

They all turned to look at me, their eyes wide.

“Wait… you don’t look mauled at all,” Jasmine said, now sounding almost disappointed, and it made me raise my brows at her.

“I told you not to listen to the rumors,” Claira said, folding her arms across her chest. “She’s perfectly fine.”

“If she’s fine… then why is she here?” Cora asked, raising her own brows.

“That’s a good question,” I said in return, stepping aside for them to enter my room.

I shut the door once all three of them were in my room.

“It’s because she was kidnapped,” Claira told them both. “Right from under the King’s nose. She’s his favored concubine, of course, her disappearance would cause a commotion. I’m sure she’s here for safety reasons.”

“Yeah, I heard they didn’t even catch the dude who did it,” Jasmine said, shaking her head. “Pathetic Gammas this kingdom has … I swear.”

My chest felt tight, but I swallowed it down.

“I’m sure they will find him soon,” I tell them. “But anyway, what are you girls doing here? I wasn’t expecting you.”

They looked at one another for a moment before they turned back to me.

“We were worried about you after we found out about your injuries,” Jasmine said with a frown. “We thought it was going to be a lot worse than it was, though. Thank Goddess for that.”

“How did you even know about my injuries?” I asked, looking between the three of them. “I didn’t think anyone knew about what had happened.”

“I’m not sure how she found out, but Vivian had been telling everyone,” Cora said with a frown.

“Vivian?” I asked, raising my brows. “How did she find out?”

They all shrugged.

“We aren’t sure, but the girls are going insane right now. They think they have an even better chance at getting the prince now… they think you’re out of the running because of your injuries. Little did they know how wrong they were,” Jasmine said with a grin, to which Claira belted out laughing.

“I just realized how stupid they are going to look,” she chuckled. “The King is scheduled to attend a meeting at the palace this afternoon, and the girls are all going to try to seduce him.”

My heart stopped in my chest.

“What?”

“I doubt they’ll succeed,” Claira said when she caught the look on my face. “Don’t worry… You have nothing to worry about.”

Third Person POV

Vivian had spent hours getting ready this morning, and she was looking better than ever. She by far bypassed all the other women who wanted the king for themselves. But they had no chance against Vivian.

Now that little Omega is out of the palace and hideous from her attack, there’s nothing more standing in her way. She grinned at the very thought of her being mauled to practically death.

It was a delicious thought. And an even more delicious image.

They had brought her back to this palace initially, and Vivian got to see Cecilia for herself. She was hideous, and Vivien was honestly surprised she was even alive.

The King hadn’t been at the palace since she had been found yesterday, but he was scheduled to return today for a very important meeting. Vivian and some others were planning to intercept him and try to get his attention.

She knew that they wouldn’t live up to her, though; she was the better-looking of all concubiries, and she couldn’t wait to see their faces when the King chose her to be the new favored concubine.

The moment the King was in the palace, the other concubines were already all over him. Vivian rolled her eyes, not wanting to come off too eager. She smoothed down the skirt of her dress and made her way towards him. He looked aggravated by the others’ interruption. Landon was trying to get them to calm down and stop making a fuss.

“What has gotten into you, ladies?” Vivian heard Landon asking, clearly annoyed as well.

“We heard a new favored concubine is on the menu,” one of the girls said.

This was Vivian’s chance; she was going to make herself more known and more available. But just as she opened her mouth to say something, she shut it just as fast when she heard the King’s words.
