The Alpha King's Mind Reading Maid (Cecilia) novel Chapter 76

Chapter 76

Cecilia’s POV

Vivian’s face was so red, I thought she was about to explode.

I, of course, was bluffing. I had no idea if what I said was true. Vivian just seemed like the type who would find herself in bed with a guard or two. I just went with my gut… but the moment I said it, and I saw the look on Vivian’s face, I knew with certainty that it was true.

“I… you…” Vivian stammered; for the first time since I’ve known her… she was speechless. “You have no right to say that to me. You don’t know what you are talking about.”

Her words came out chalky, and I raised my brows, folding my arms across my chest.

“Don’t I?” I challenged. “Then why do you look so flustered?”

She opened her mouth to reply, but Madam Isa arrived and started our lessons for the day. By the time the lessons were over, she still wasn’t able to retaliate or say anything to me because I was already gone, with Mike walking behind me.

He didn’t say anything about what happened between Vivian and me… in fact, he didn’t say anything at all.

I liked it that way.

I wasn’t in the mood to talk to anybody.

I went back to my room and basically stayed there for the rest of the day and night. I wasn’t sure what else I was supposed to do.

I wasn’t allowed to leave the palace, so it wasn’t like I could stroll the gardens or go for a run in my wolf form.

I was a prisoner within these walls.

I let out a breath as I sat down on my bed. I felt like I was about to go wild; Lora was uncomfortable. I paced back and forth in my room for what felt like several hours. I stared at the wall, then at the ceiling.

I was about to lose my mind with boredom.

Grounded.

I couldn’t believe I was grounded like a damn child. He was out of his mind if he thought this was the answer.

At some point, I must have fallen asleep because the next thing I knew, someone was shaking me.

“Cecilia…”

I heard my name being whispered. For a second, I thought I was dreaming. I didn’t hear anyone knocking, and I found it hard to believe that Mike would just let anyone into my room without knocking first. My room was dark with only the moon’s rays filtering through the curtains.

I blinked a few times, trying to get my eyes to adjust to the new lighting, and then I saw his face… King Leopold.

No.

Leopold would never walk into my room without knocking first. This had to be Warren.

“Warren?” I whispered.

He moved, giving me room to sit up.

“Finally awake,” he said. “I watched you sleep.”

I blinked, trying to adjust my vision so I could see him more clearly. I couldn’t have heard him correctly. Did he say he was watching me sleep?

at?” I asked, my voice coming out barely above a whisper.

He lifted one shoulder casually, as if it were no big deal.

“I watched you sleep,” he repeated. “You were peaceful. Didn’t want to wake you.”

I blinked a couple more times as I stared at him

“Warren, you can’t just break into my room and watch me sleep,” I tell him, shaking my head. I couldn’t believe I had to have this conversation with him. Then again, he was a wolf, and understood their instincts and their lack of boundaries. Lora would probably do the same thing. “Where’s Mike?”

“I dismissed him,” Warren said. “Thought I was Leopold.”

I let out a breath.
